RUSH: St. Louis. This is Greg. Great to have you on the program, sir. Hello.

CALLER: Hey, Rush. God bless you, buddy. Been listening to you for a long time, and, like you, I'm an expert at what I do. I've got a painting company, funny story, I have the ability to listen to you at different job sites, particularly residential job sites, and it's a hoot when I'm at a liberal's house painting with Rush Limbaugh on. It drives 'em crazy.

RUSH: I can imagine that. I've heard such stories, guys on ladders with the radio on where the owner can't get to it. The wife, in particular, just goes batty.

CALLER: Yep.

RUSH: Husbands, too. They can't do anything about it other than fire the painter, which they don't want to do.

CALLER: Right. Yeah. It's hysterical. It's really amusing. It's funny. I can almost tell neighborhood by neighborhood, you know, what kind of clientele I have and whether or not I'm gonna drive 'em crazy.

RUSH: How can you do that? How can you tell by neighborhood what kind of clientele you're gonna have?

CALLER: Yeah, well...

RUSH: Okay, you don't want answer, I caught you. The host caught you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, expert painter knows when he's going to a liberal neighborhood or a conservative neighborhood.

CALLER: You can tell.

RUSH: You can tell. Yep. Whether you got a car on concrete blocks in the front yard or not, I know.

CALLER: Yeah, right, right, especially election time when all the signs get put in the front yard, it's even more of a hoot.

RUSH: Yep.

CALLER: But, hey, the reason why I'm calling, you know, you're the guy that I listen to the most, and you're the guy that I get all my information from. I get why you couldn't endorse someone, but, boy, it sure would be helpful for me and your listeners for you, at the end of the day, say, "Here's the guy," because you're the expert, man. You know who's full of it, and you know who's legitimate, and it would be awesome if you would just, you know, come out and say, this is --
RUSH: Ah, see, wait a minute. You say you understand why I don't endorse. In fact, you said you understand why I can't endorse. And then you very sneakily and slyly try get me to endorse. If I tell you who I'm voting for, that's an endorsement. You're trying to tell me I can do that without actually endorsing anybody. Snerdley, I'm gonna tell you something. 'Cause Snerdley's behind this, folks. If I don't shut this down every call is gonna be somebody demanding or trying to pressure me. Snerdley is sitting in there thinking that I can change the outcome of elections if I would just say so. He really believes that.

You and I both know that's absurd, but he believes it. I'm just telling you, you could give me two more hours of this, I'm not gonna tell you. It isn't going to happen, because when this is all over, I am not gonna be in a position where my credibility is such that I can't support whoever the nominee is. 'Cause I am not voting Obama. I'm not supporting Obama. So whoever wins this, I can't sit here and pigeonhole myself in such a way that I don't have credibility supporting whoever the eventual nominee is, because Obama is the end result. I'll tell you right now, I'm not voting Obama. I'm the expert. And that's really all you need to know.

RIDE THAT FENCE RUSH

Remember how Rush used to rail against Moderates and Independents because they didn't stand for anything? Remember how Rush used to ask, "What have Moderates ever won?"

There is no passion, no fire in his belly. He sounds spent in my opinion, ever since he got married. I was a daily listener - all three hours. Now? I don't care if I miss part of his show (when he is there) because I am not really missing anything.

Boy, this series of debates has really revealed those in the media as to who they really are. I never thought Rush would turn out to be part of that GOP Establishment crowd.

He spent the entire part of the show I heard explaining why he doesn’t endorse. And how much it upsets people and how he doesn’t understand, yada, yada, yada......It was boring.

Today's show was pretty much a wash. I had it on in the background all morning, and I was torn between two observations.

On one hand, Rush made it All About Him. Like we really care!

On the other hand, the MSM has made "it" an Awful Lot About Rush (not all, but a lot), describing things he's said about Newt and Romney in ways that Rush disagrees with.

I'm still glad for Rush, though, in pointing out things that need to be pointed out. He's eloquently defended Newt on many charges, and just as eloquently slammed Romney.

On balance, I think Rush was 100 PERCENT CORRECT when he said his endorsement wouldn't sway the election either way, and frankly, although I have often wished he'd just endorse "my guy" over the years, I totally respect and admire Rush's respect for ME and for his audience, in that he doesn't presume to tell us WHO to vote for. Rush screws up a LOT -- I think he's flirted with downright betrayal by not going after Romney with the same gusto he goes after OTHER anti-conservatives -- but his steadfast refusal to presume to tell me who to vote for, goes a long way to redeeming many faults, in my book.

I thought and felt the same; back in 2008; as did a lot of other people. That was then; this is now; and I prefer to ‘hear’ what Rush says now; not ‘then’. We are living in a time; where instant communication; makes for ‘fast learning’; and updating.

I say that “Bloody Thursday” Rush is lying, what do you think?

I think he's wrong but I don't think he's lying.

And some Santorum voters will probably move to Romney. I think Newt's marriages are a real issue for some.

I love Rush and probably agree with him 95-99% of the time.

That said, I’m firmly convinced the reason he doesn’t endorse is because his ego cannot allow for the possibility that the one he endorses would LOSE.

He didn’t seem to be thinking clearly....stuttering a lot. Or maybe my hearing is worse than I thought.

Rush will back the nominee whenever that person is chosen. If a true conservative, such as Palin, were to run on a third party ticket, Rush would be all over her saying she should drop out to support the GOP candidate. He would never say “Mitt, you need to drop out and give all of your support to Palin.” He liked having SC Justices at his weddings in the past. And he wants one at all of his future weddings.

Well if he spends three hours bashing Romney and tells you how great Newt is and how bad Romney’s ads are then you ought to be able to make a sensible deduction as to who he is for. Rush has become boring and the fun of the show has just not been there lately. I’m about through with Rush, Hannity, Greta. Actually CNN has been more fair lately.

He has been trying to ride the fence in this election between the Tea Party Conservatives and the establishment RINOs. I thought he would have more guts than he has shown.

Maybe he is a man who realizes the power he has but chooses not to use it.

Too bad we don't have more people in his or similar positions who share the same integrity and humility.....I could certainly live with that, especially when it comes to the Government.

Just a thought....

I didn’t support Romney in 2008, but Rush did.

Rush did not sit on the fence in 2008, we knew who he hated, and who he liked.

I know know who he supports this time as well, but people keep saying that he is merely neutral, even if those people are right, why is Rush suddenly unwilling to lean a little in the conservative Newt’s direction?

After being so pro-Romney last time, why is Rush merely “neutral” when Romney is facing a very serious threat from Newt this time, instead of giving Newt the subtle boosts that Rush is capable of?

Watch this video, Rush is lying to steer voters away from Newt, by claiming that BOTH Santorum and Perry voters prefer Romney.

See post 52, also tell me how someone religious enough to idiotically choose a Mormon Bishop over a Christian divorcee could at the same time, choose to make this president over this Christian nation.

The Bishop, and Cardinal (Stake President in Mormon terms), is among the most devout and devoted Mormons, a Temple Mormon, Romney is a part of the elite, most holy 15% of the Mormon religion. You know those glorious Mormon Temples? Bishop Romney was not only one who decided which Mormons qualified for the most pure, but only that 15% of the most pure Mormons are allowed into those temples, about 85% of Mormons are forbidden to enter those secret temples. Romney is thought by many Mormons to be the fulfillment of Mormon Prophecy.

I bet you see bogey men under your bed too.

Maybe the man is just sharing his thoughts with no nefarious plot behind it?

Feels like conspiracy central here sometimes.

Gee, quite a rebuttal.

That was the Rush show itself, hardly a conspiracy theory.

He explains to us that neither Perry voters or Santorum voters are Newts, but that they are Romney’s.

That sounds pretty anti-Newt, and pro-Romney to me.

I think they’d probably split down the middle. Voters can have odd voting patterns. If Newt had the same family background as Santorum, it would probably virtually all go to him. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not slamming Newt for his past in saying that - I’m just trying to be analytical in how the votes might go if Santorum did drop out. I don’t think Santorum dropping out would be beneficial to Newt - it would be a wash. Personally I would go with Newt over the abortion issue as he has been consistently pro-life vs. Romney - and of course there’s Romneycare, etc.

Besides which...if Romney and Newt keeping going after each other with the same intensity as they have been and raise each others’ negatives, Santorum does in fact have a real shot at this.

I listen to Rush daily, I don’t interpret one single segment and take it as Gospel.

In totality, Rush has been and remained neutral, as he should.

It is what used to be called an opinion based on what is happening at the time...around here it is now referred to as an agenda with some evil intention.....bogey men if you will.

Did you notice the title of the link...Rush not sure?

I’m not either, who knows?

It is an opinion of thought for the current circumstances, lighten up. No one knows for sure ;)

Sounds to me like he just supports Santorum...his closing segments including hitting Romney over the fact he couldn’t disagree with Ted Kennedy in a debate after a caller brought those up from back in 1994, then recalled another instance of Newt doing the same thing over global warming in a debate with John Kerry. In his closing comments he said “So we have similar situations with the candidates behaving this way...except for Santorum.” In previous shows he has expressed disappointment that Santorum is not doing better, talking him up as one of the most solid individuals you can meet, etc. It’s not very overt but if I had to bet, I would say he voted for Santorum today.
