I like Matthew Broderick. The Freshman was a great movie. Family Business was good too.
What movie was this based on? Seriously. I have no idea.
26 years ago. Hard to believe.
I can’t look at that movie in quite the same light since Jeffery Jones turned out to be a freaking pervert. Principal Rooney’s (Jones) obsession with catching Ferris seem a whole lot more sinister now...
Ever notice that every CRV on the road looks near new no matter how old it is. Do CRV owners have some compulsive disorder about keeping their cars spotless?
Now that was good. He doesn’t look much different than he did 25 years ago.
I guess it would be funny if I had ever seen the movie. I mean I sorta know the plot and have seen the Ben Stein part quite a few times on other things, but never watched the actual movie.
Someone else will have to tell me if they pulled it off.
Brilliant move to release the commercial early. Honda is going to get a lot of viewers looking at this, in addition to the Super Bowl spot. Look at FR as an example. What other commercial gets its own thread?
that was very entertaining
money well spent by Honda for the burgeoning family market
especially metero families
out here in southern realville we drive real SUVs like Yukons, Tahoes, Suburbans etc...Expeditions
nothing wrong with a Honda...I had one once...drove it from MS to Alaska..when the AlCan was gravel
Didn’t like his encouraging people to “take a day off” to campaign for the Kenyan. Didn’t like the Godzilla remake and there’s the UK driving crash that ended up killing someone...
Usually I can forget about all that and enjoy FBDO..except for Hughes’ obligatory retro 60’s references (No 80’s teen that I knew—and I was one—constantly waxed nostalgic about obscure teen idols from the 60’s, much less quoted them) plus Midwestern references that Hughes always had to throw in. My husband caught a 60’s period reference in Uncle Buck, for some racetrack or stadium that wouldn’t have existed in the 70’s, much less the 80’s.
Personally I think the idea is way too late.
Plus he’s hawking a freaking car. No real good reason to do it.
Brilliant ad, thanks for posting
That was a fun movie, and Matthew Broderick is still kind of cute. I like the idea. And I am a huge Honda fan. And Acura.
Honda: Helping Old Nips Destroy America
Honda: How Odd-No Damn Acceleration
Honda: Hand Over Dollars to Asians
One car I will NEVER own, or any other Japanese/Korean tinfoil junk.
Oh, and I was not amused to see a Ferrari trashed, even if it was plastic.
Thumbs down on the movie too.
Save Ferris!!!!
“Ferris Bueller you’re my hero.”
Interesting side note, this movie, maybe “risky business” and many others of that era were filmed in or near Highland Park IL. At least that what the better half’s relatives in the a area tell me....
