Bullet train becoming ‘Moonbeam Express'
The Orange County Register ^ | 2-1-2012 | Orange County Register editorial boarad

In a brazen denial of the obvious, Gov. Jerry Brown now insists the proposed California high-speed rail can be built for much less than its own business plan stipulates, and wants to use anti-global-warming carbon taxes to underwrite the proposal, whose price tag has nearly tripled in the three years since voters approved it.

The governor seems intent on demonstrating how California's state government has burdened taxpayers with mounting debt, while overspending to create consecutive years of budget deficits. . .

John and Ken are calling it the Browndoggle. Or it could be called “The Brown Streak”.

Either Moonbeam took too many drugs or not enough, but he is definitely off his meds and is suffering an incurable brain disorder. It sounds like he actually believes the lies he spouts.

I propose building a rail line, using conventional diesel locomotives, to save tons of money. Oh wait, we already have that! We don’t need hi-speed rail Mr. Moonbeam. De-regulate and cut spending!

This project needs its own DUFU. Perhaps “The Moonbeam Express” to the tune of “The Polar Express.”

All aboard! All aboard!
Tickets please, tickets
Well, you coming?

It’s a magic carpet on a rail
Never takes a rest
Flying through the mountains and the snow
Ride for free and join the fun
(You can ride for free)
If you just say yes!
Cause that’s the way things happen
On the Polar Express
You bet!

Wooo wooo the whistle blows
That’s the sound of her singing
Ding ding the bell will ring
Golly look at her go!

You wonder if you’ll get there soon
Anybody’s guess
Cause that’s the way things happen
On the Polar Express

When we get there we’ll scream Yes! (Yeah)
We’ll arrive with a bang bang bang
boom boom boom
Laughing all the way!

It’s a choo choo with a stunning view
That rivals all the best
But you won’t see it advertised
It’s a simple fact we stay on track
Though sometimes we digress
But that can only happen on the Polar Express

Hiss hiss the steam hisses
That’s the sound of her breathing
Clang clang the boiler bangs
What a wonderful show!

With a comfy seat and lots to eat
Boy is this the best!
Wish it wouldn’t ever have to end
With a little luck we’ll be on time
There’s no need to stress
Cause that’s the way things happen
On the Polar Express

Lights are gleaming far across the snow
You’re not dreaming
May I present the North Pole!
If it’s penguins you expect to view
You surely haven’t guessed
They all live down at the other end

With a little luck we’ll be on time
There’s no need to stress
Cause that’s the way things happen
On the Polar Express

Boom boom the whistle blows
That’s the sound of her singing
Ding ding the bell will ring
Golly look at her go!
If you want to join us come along
I’ll check my manifest
Cause that’s the way things happen
On the Polar Express

When we get there we’ll scream Yes! (Yeah)
We’ll arrive with a bang bang bang boom boom boom
Laughing all the way
If you want to join us come along
You can be our guest
Cause that’s the way things happen
On the roller coaster the Polar Express
Next stop One Hundred and Thirteen Forty-Four
Edbrook Avenue
Next stop One Hundred and Thirteen Forty-Four
Edbrook Avenue

Ahh ahhh ahh that is not a toy young man
That is not a toy
Take your seats please
Take your seats

Too bad a blog trip is required to read this.

Nope, no thanks.

As much traffic as you try to drive away from FR I hope you are a large donor and not just a parasite.

I'd say "Liberalism," but that sometimes, rarely, can be cured.

We need a 20 billion dollar high speed train because, for leftists, you can’t get to San Francisco fast enough.

Moonbeam is pushing 75 years old. He is showing the early signs of dementia. He is in his second childhood. He likes to play with toy trains.

I agree, with one big proviso: I PERSONALLY am going to be sharp and brilliant well into MY 120s. :P

Just not Moonbeam.

I wish we could pass a law that stipulates liberals must pay all the costs associated with their stupid, statist, failed ideas. Any place at any time in human history where socialism was tried it failed. The Soviet Union. Detroit. California. Cuba. Oakland.

Train derailment a few miles from me today. If it had been the high speed rail planned for this line, one little town wouldn’t even exist today and many would be dead.

I’ll say it again, based on the current $98B estimate for infrastructure costs and the ridership estimates, it would be cheaper for the next 30 years for the state to pay every single person $100 for every single one-way trip they take between SF and LA — and then also reimburse them for gas when they get back.

Yeah, he's paying attention.

This dude only posts his own stuff, and in excerpted form.

He's farming hits for himself using a site we all pay for.
