Romney: Welfare State So Successful We Don’t Have to Worry About Poor
Stop the ACLU ^ | 1 Feb 2012 | John Stephenson

So, we shouldn’t worry about the poor because we have a welfare state that keeps them on a crutch (or “a float”). I understand that his focus is on the middle class and that he believes these were the people hurt the most by the financial situation in America, but is the underlying philosophy here to just “fix holes” in the “safety net” or should we be trying to fix the entitlement mentality that helped pull us into this debt? This should be red meat for Newt who worked to reform welfare. Some are defending this as being taken out of context, and it very easily could be…but the underlying philosophy to keep the poor “a float” in their dependency on the government sounded pretty clear.

It may very well sink his chance at the nomination.
Yes, whatever it takes. But I wish it could be Willard's conservative opposition that takes him out.

I literally can not stand Rick Santorum. He reminds me of Huckabee. I wish he would pack it in and go home. He is just an angry looking distateful man.

Yes! Exactly. I just can’t get past it. Plus he is an enormous bore.

No matter how they try to gloss over this fake conservative candidate trying to portray him as articulate and a good debater, he is the equal of Biden...open mouth and insert foot time and time again.

I was so pissed last night at the results, I just signed on afternoon, could not bear even discussing this “win”.

Unless I’m mistaken it was Ronald Reagan who relied on the safety net for the poor when proposing free market approaches. Does someone dispute that? Was Reagan supporting the “welfare state”?

Romney needs to take a listen to Col. Allen Wests speech to understand what a real Conservatives position on the safety net should be.

Romney’s mindset seems exactly the same as the Democrats.

The book of Romney opens all by itself, for everyone to read.

There are voters who will never vote for one or more of the current 4 Presidential Candidates. Hence, keeping all 4 in weakens support for any one of the Candidates. A weakened Romney will be desperate, and therefore erratic, by the time he gets to Tampa, because he knows that this is his last chance to be Nominated.

My post is based on the assumption that the best way to defeat Romney’s Nomination is to deny him the required delegates BEFORE the Tampa Convention.

Each Candidate has a loyal contingent who will only vote for him, and thus further reduce support for the leading candidate of the moment.

We are taught by the despicable Liberal Agenda Media, (LAM), that two dimensional thinking, ( either-or, yes or no, black or white, etc.), is the best way to think. As usual, the LAM is wrong, because the answer is almost always “None of the Above.”

So here we are in a rip-roaring Presidential Primary with 3 Candidates trying to rock the GOP Establishment Boat, and good ol’ panty waist Willy calling for “Steady as She Goes.”

Will “Safety Net” Willy prevail, and again beach the GOP Establishment Boat on the perilous sands of History?

Will 3 Candidates rock the GOP Establishment Boat enough to dump Milk-Toast Willy into the briny waters outside Tampa Bay?

Those of us that are TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY think that the odds favor having 3 boat-rockers, rather than just having one boat-rocker.

I’ve known Romney reminded me of someone but couldn’t place it. I now know. Nellie Oleson from Little House on the Prarie. That bet he tried on Perry— Nellie!

The conservatives will use it to do it. It is TV-ad material right out of his own trap and current on the campaign trail.

It’s not simple and we have to operate within current political reality.
