Yes he is. Santorum is the ONLY viable option that conservatives have. Newt went into Fl the heavy favorite and he lost it big time. Why? Because he went ballistic when confronted with Mitt's negative ads. He couldn't control himself and made a fool of himself. His last two debate performances were pathetic and that stunt he tried to pull on Wolf Blitzer blew up in his face because he was being asked about charges he actually made. He went to the well one too many times. My question is if he can't handle Mitt...and he CLEARLY CAN'T!!! How in the hell is he going to handle obama and the rats and the MSM??? He won't. he'll self destruct right before our eyes, just like he did as Speaker as clinton whipped his butt. Newt as our candidate is a disaster waiting to happen!

Newt may be the choice of the base of the GOP. It would be generous to say that that would be 50% of the GOP which is 35% of the electorate. That's all he can hope to draw in the general. He won't win women. He won't win independents. Do that math...he can't win! He currently has 60% negatives. Good God almighty! And people say Santorum is fronting for Romney.

No - I am aware that he did that. Completely and perfectly the right and proper thing to do!

However, as soon as she (Bella) was out of the woods, he didn’t travel back to FL for the vote, instead he went to Nevada - Las Vegas, I believe.

He was not with his daughter yesterday.

1998 ACU Ratings: Gingrich 100%, Paul 88%, Santorum 84% [last year all 3 were in Congress]

I don’t disagree with your statements - I did say that Santorum had a questionable voting record but if that is that case - just who do you vote for then?

I see no Republican in the race that is Conservative as you and I might describe them. Vote?

He was in Las Vegas last night during the FL vote. That is what I was referring to.

Verify it. I watched him give his little speech.

“Amazing to me that people have been putting so much lipstick on this turd, trying to dress him up as something he isn’t.”

Gingrich supporters are doing the same damn thing. They are falling all over themselves trying to spit shine that turd.

Any way you cut it we are getting stuck with the choice of the lesser of 2 evils.
There is no true Conservative in the GOP race. Romney is a Liberal through and through. Gingrich is a Global Warming, Individual Mandate loving RINO, Santorum is an East Coast Moderate, and Paul is batshit crazy....... but I will take either of them over what presently occupies the White House.

Bears repeating. Now we can just wait and watch while the Santorumites tell us that ACU ratings don't mean anything.

While the voting record might be pertinent, You and I know that Gingrich has a speculative background with liberals.

Gingrich has changed and his actions in later years does require answers.

Sitting with Polosi, Global Warming, Carbon fees, Agreeing with Romney and Obama about health insurance, ah, you know the rest...

Well, it's not fair to blame Santorum for the RINO establishment, but I am starting to think to avoid the disaster of Romney it might be good for Santorum to drop out and let the anti-Mitt vote go to Gingrich.

Ginrich aint no prize, but at least he is not Romney.

"He was not with his daughter yesterday."

C'mon. If you knew her name, then you surely knew she recovered enough for him to leave her side.

I've got to go back to work now but I'll be back to check this thread later to review all the snide comments that will undoubtedly come my way... oh well.

RONG! So incorrect I misspelled it.

Thanks for the Santorum links. I like him even more now.
Yes, Santorum supports Stem Cell research ie. Adult Stem Cell not embryonic research.

Unlike Newt, Rick didn’t make his campaign about bashing capitalism and pandering to Hispanics by talking about ‘inhumane’ immigration policy. He doesn’t have divorces and affairs to deal with and he didn’t work for Freddie Mac. So I can see why many conservatives would go for Rick over Newt.

I’m for the guy mentioned in my tagline (Newt).

Is he a perfect conservative in every conceivable dimension of conservatism? Probably not. But I’m looking for someone with the right ideas, experience, and will power. And in terms of the philosophy and vision Newt has, he’s decisively on target regarding pertinent issues, in ways that matter to me most.

Can Santorum carry Pennsylvania?

If memory serves, they already gave him the boot.

It breaks my heart to see what Rush has become. Since the 2008 primaries, when he talked up Romney and ignored Thompson, I’ve been in a sort of mourning period, not wanting to accept the truth.

But truth wins over loyalty in the end. I know what Rush is, there’s no doubt in my mind.
