Is Tracy Morgan really worth $18 million?That's one estimate reported and despite his wealth, he appears to hold enough of a grudge against his own mother that he won't help her stave off foreclosure on her modest home.
The bank is threatening to foreclose on her Ohio home if the mother doesn't make a payment, plus her utilities are also getting ready to be turned off and she has reached the maximum for her unemployment checks.
"My mom's house isn't extravagant, but it's her home, Her health is failing. She has diabetes and her legs are giving out on her," Tracy's sister Asia says.
"She has a son that can do and she's done everything that she could possibly could [sic] for her family."
According to ABC News, Morgan, 43, was firing back Wednesday night.
"I am saddened that these untrue stories about me have people questioning my commitment to my family," he said in a statement to ABCNews.com. "For reasons that are between us, I have not seen my mother in 11 years and outside of a random call here and there have had little to no contact with my sister."
"We all have personal family issues that we have to deal with in life, but I choose to deal with mine in private and not through the media," the statement concluded.
Tracy was in the news recently because of his own health scare.
He collapsed at the Sundance Film Festival.
The 43-year-old actor was rushed to the Park City Medical Center in Park City, Utah after he passed out following an awards ceremony last week.
Ron Nyswaner - the co-director of Tracy's new movie 'Predisposed - blamed a combination of altitude sickness and complications with the actor's diabetes for the collapse.
He explained: "[It was] altitude sickness combined with his diabetes. And he hadn't eaten. He hadn't had enough water".
It had been reported that the recovering alcoholic seemed out of control at dinner, where he is said to have been shouting and falling over but a spokeswoman for the hospital said no drugs or alcohol were found in his system.
I think the point is that he IS a rich liberal who believes in soaking the rich to help the “poor”...except when he is the rich guy.
I have somegrandchildren who's mother is a nut case and she got the kids in the divorce. The kids leave as soon as possible, one choosing to move in with his father and the brother is looking for an apartment near his school as he is a senior and wants to graduate. Same mother threw him out and father lives too far for the school for the child to live with him. He's looking for an apartment for him and will help with rent as the boy is working but of course doesn't make enough to pay his bills at 17.
A beach for a mother is a good reason to stay away from her for ones own mental health..

For all you folks out there who were blessed with loving, unselfish mothers: you are VERY fortunate. Some of us were not as lucky, I’m sorry to say. If Morgan’s mother was half as vicious as the monster who gave birth to me was, I don’t blame him at all for ignoring her. Karma.
Is there some sort of law that says this dope has to take care of his mother? Who knows what the circumstances of this are. She may be a vile POS. Either way, I don’t care what happens to him or his mother. It is their business.
That is true, but there are also some difficult narcisstic lying children out there who are rotten to their parents and their sibs.
This is all speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if mom and sister did something related to Morgan's fame and rising fortune right about then. I think this is less about "my mommy was mean to me when I was a kid", and more "my mother and sister are greedy b****es who nearly bankrupted me".

I don’t know how it works there, but here in Texas if you don’t pay your bill on time, they send you a pretty red one with a new deadline and if you don’t pay that, that is the day they will come and turn off your electricity.
I moved out of my parent’s house when I was a teenager and actually got one or two of those red envelopes :)

Not everyone has a Leave it to Beaver life. Who knows what this woman put him through in life. Who knows how many times he has bailed her out? We don’t know these answers and I would say that he knows why he will not bail her out more than anybody else. Tracy it is your money and your life and you know what is best for you. Keep your head held high. You will have a lot of jerks who will criticize without knowing a dang thing. f’em.
Yes, he is a creep. However, it is sad that his sister took this public. He should not be compelled to assist his family. Nor should the state assist them.
I don't and honor your mother and father is not a suggestion! And it has nothing about what you think of them, one should still do the right thing! He's got a bitter heart and that will eat at him like a cancer. What one sows they reap, more than they sow, later than they sow.

It is very possible that he pays way more taxes than we all on this forum does. I still don’t think it needs to be his responsibility to pay her bills. She needs to get off her butt and do whatever it takes to pay her bills.
I knew a diabetic who appeared drunk when his blood sugar got high. He did not drink at all.
He has always seemed not that bright and not that nice. But he may be that way from a lousy mother. Still, it is one of the big 10 commandments. If she didn’t abuse him, he should probably toss her a bone and make sure she is fed and housed.
