As Obama Crows, The Real Story Is 10.5 Million Jobs Deficit
IBD ^ | 02/04/2012

Of course it's good news that 243,000 new jobs were created in January, shaving the unemployment rate to 8.3%. But thanks to massive policy errors by the White House, we're still way below where we should be.

President Obama, speaking in Arlington, Va., immediately took credit for the bullish report, crowing that "altogether, we've added 3.7 million new jobs over the last 23 months."

According to data from the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, the economy is just 0.7% above its previous high. Usually at this point in an expansion, it's 13.5% above the last peak. In other words, thanks to Obama's policies, we're missing about $1.8 trillion in GDP — or roughly $5,760 for every man, woman and child.

Far worse for most Americans is the jobs depression that has accompanied Obamanomics. As the chart shows, we've suffered a jobs implosion greater than any since World War II.

The president went on to say: "We can't go back to the policies that led to the recession. And we can't let Washington stand in the way of our recovery."

"Our" recovery? And "We can't go back to the policies that led to the recession"? The cause of the recession was, in fact, housing policies put in place by President Clinton and aggressively supported by Democrats in Congress, including former Sen. Barack Obama.

How soon we forget. These were the policies that led to the housing meltdown, the financial crisis and, ultimately, the deep recession we're still climbing out of.

Yet Obama's "blame Bush" theme will be the Democrats' strategy for the 2012 campaign. So get used to it.

Truth is, by now we should have created millions more jobs than we have.

If the media would report the truth...Obama would be done. But they won’t; and most voters vote the way the big networks tell them.

The only way I will vote for Romney is if he takes on the media as Gingrich was doing. But he won’t. He’s part of the establishment...and part of the problem.

Romney=the Republican Kerry.

It's good news if you like fiction.

Buying into the lie makes this author no better than goebbels. If obama and the US government declared that the dollar was worth today what it was in 1959... we would know it was a lie... we know this garbage from the CBO is a lie.

2.4 million jobs disappeared between December 11, 2011 and January 11, 2012... ONE MONTH... and that data is in this same report. 1.2 million unemployed Americans were bumped out of the jobs market and into non existence. This data is also in the exact same report. They were “disappeared” because it took 1.2 million less unemployed to raise the putrid evil lying .3 reduction in the fanatsy rate that the fed uses.

the real figure should be based on a per capita number.

the real stats on a per region basis:
1. total people in a region
2. number of people eligible to work
3. number of people working
4. median and average monthly salary for those people
5. update stats monthly

this would give you an exact idea how the economy in an area is doing. roll it up from district to county, to state, to country. easily spot the areas hurting and the ones doing well.

QED

of course, they don’t want the real information. keeping people in the dark is one of the primary activities of corruption

11.5 million jobs were created in the first four years under Ronald Reagan, with an average of 240,000 per month. And those numbers are real, not Obama math.

The BLS site does have regional data. The freshness of the data varies.
