Law enforcement officials in both countries acknowledge that 70 to 80 percent of the traceable guns seized in Mexico can be tracked to the United States. Another good argument for sealing the southern border up tighter than Michelle Obama's 3-sizes-too-small sweaters.
Tighter than Nancy Pelosi's face after her daily Botox injections.
Tighter than Eric Holder's sphincter at a congressional hearing.

The Washington Post is a DNC outlet for talking points.
It has nothing to do with truth.

Don’t repeal the 2nd Amendment to protect mexicans from themselves. Instead abolish the DOJ amd protect both our countries.

Your right G Larry. I believe this gunwalker thing was a conspiracy by this administration to repeal the 2nd Amendment or get more gun control. It backfired on em and I wonder if some patriotic Americans in the law enforcement might have sabotaged Holder's plans?

No, dipshit, the rise is from our own gubmint furnishing the weapons..The significant rise in violence and the increase in the number of public officials killed in Mexico coincides with lifting of the assault weapons ban, Mr. Poire Romero said.”

Just think how much of the illegal gun trade would be eliminated if we just outlawed dhimmicrats.

I didn’t think it was lax gun laws but strict drug laws that cause the killings.

“..70 to 80 percent of the traceable guns...”
95% of the weapons aren’t “TRACEABLE” because they’re stolen from Central and South American police and military, or imported from China!

“Can someone tell me how many lives were saved by the assault weapons ban?”
None!
But they did expand their gun grabbing agenda buy lying about what constitutes an “assault weapon”.
If it isn’t capable of being fired in full auto mode, it IS NOT AN ASSAULT WEAPON!!!
But the ban includes many semi-autos that they don’t like the looks of.

flawed...misguided...failed...operation---the mandatory MSM mantra
bears repeating--- they never intended to interdict any of the weapons and can't show where they had.
From the article:
"Mr. Poire Romero calls Fast and Furious an issue of concern for Mexico. Its clear that we did not know and would never have approved of an operation that let guns walk into Mexico, he said,"

The operable word here is “traceable.” The U.S. does an Unconstitutional job of keeping track of guns better than Mexico which has even more restrictions on guns.

I suppose it is “lax U.S. gun laws” that enable the cretins in mexico to have grenades, and rocket launchers at their disposal as well. Mexico is barely better than a failed state at this point, with its rampant corruption, and lack of property rights and the rule of law. I think mexico would do better to do something about its endemic culture of corruption (which they are working hard at exporting to the U.S.), than whining about our gun laws.
