What the article doesn’t mention is that they were found about 300 yards from a road and less than a mile from where they parked their car. What a bunch of f*****g morons.

Actually, that is typical for rescue operations. Sometimes even closer to the trail.

Seriously, there are very few places you’re likely to be that you couldn’t pick a direction and walk to find a road. After that, pick a direction and hold out your thumb.

Not to mention that they had edible mushrooms but were considering eating their dog.

They couldn't hear a passing car 300 yards away?

Agreed these folks are not the sharpest tools on the work bench. I’d bet they didn’t have even a pocket knife & book of matches between the lot of them . Let alone a “space blanket” or the knowledge to even set up a lean to shelter & start a camp fire . As for have a map sheet of were they were going & a compass that is obviously more than they could figure out how to use.

Bet they were near a good stand of miner’s lettuce, too. Some people shouldn’t be allowed outside.

That’s almost as bad as the couple that got lost in a cornfield.

Gold beach is a small town on the coast, just up from the border. There is a small body of water just to the west, called the pacific ocean. There is a black top 3 lane highway that runs along this small body of water. Given they were lost for what, a week, seems they could have simply headed west.
