(Tom Brady's wife) Gisele Bundchen blasts Pats WRs

New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker was so upset over dropping a crucial pass late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 21-17 loss to the Giants in Super Bowl XLVI, he nearly started crying at the podium.

Welker isn't going to get any pity from quarterback Tom Brady's wife, Gisele Bundchen, though.

After her prayers for a Patriots' championship went unanswered, Bunchen lashed out at the team's receiving corps for failing to haul in her husband's passes. While waiting for an elevator at Lucas Oil Stadium, Bundchen was being heckled by Giants fans when she spoke to people in her group.

"My husband can not f------ throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times," Bundchen said in a video captured by theinsider.com, a gossip website.

Forgive my naivete but how do you cheat at professional football? I know you can not get called on some things (holding, pass interference etc) if the ref misses it.

I saw the chart further down in the thread showing all the cheating of the various teams.

what is it exactly? I am being sincere in this question!

I get Tom Brady confused with Justin Bieber.

Your stupid ass coach and kicker should have called a timeout they had left.
There also something called the yard marker on field which is the official down record.

What’s wrong is football is a team sport. You don’t point fingers at your teammates, you point them at yourself.

Welker pointed the finger at himself, saying he should have caught it.

Brady pointed the finger at himself, saying he also made mistakes during the game as well.

That’s the tradition, and it’s considered good sportsmanship to handle mistakes this way.

Ragging on your teammates is considered poor sportsmanship at every level. Brady’s wife broke this unwritten rule. A better response from her would have been something like “I know Tom prepared hard and gave it his all in the game and I’m proud of him; sometimes though, things just don’t go your way.”

Here's a cleaned-up version of something cynical I once heard: “Show me a beautiful woman and I'll show you the man who is tired of sleeping with her.”

She was caught saying this off the record. After a highly emotional game and sticking up for her husband in front of a bunch of rowdy heckling Giants fans...
Give her a break for christ sakes.
People are jealous of the Bradys.

Class warfare from a forum who fraudentley despises it.

Tom Brady has given millions of dollars of his money to the sick poor and needy.
He has made these millions from winning these sports games.
The email was hacked to boot, and wasn’t made for public consumption.
Tom Brady has been an outstanding representive of the Patriots on and off the field.

Well I won’t dispute the ‘spin’ part, but I see discussions between QBs and recievers for every team, and yes, sometimes heated. Missed routes/reads have to be discussed. Emotions bubbling over in the heat of battle...so what? I’ve NEVER seen Brady throw another player under the bus, and neither have you.

Though he was all alone, I was a little surprised Welker didn’t pop up off the ground after the play throwing his hands in the air looking for an interference call like he typically does when he misses a catch

Um, have you actually seen Tom's new place...?

Seeing that picture reminded me that when material things get to this scale they more often than not supersede LOVE.

Just a thought.

Everyone has a moment they will never forget

I am guessing Scott Norwood’s kick wide right (that would have won superbowl 25) is one I’ll never forget.

He made those 100 times - he was the Bill’s high scorer for the year... You knew the game was in the bag! (and OMG what a game it was !!!!!!)

and then....

(..excuse me I have to go get a tissue...)

Are we sure that the heckler was a Giants fan? I mean, a true blue G-men fan?

I mean, couldn’t it have been an pi$$ed off, drunk & angry Patriots fan doing the heckling? As a whole, I don’t think I’ve ever seen fans who are more down-to-earth, patriotic and loyal than Giants fan, and I’ve been one since the mid-70s.

Giants fans don’t boo our own team (like Philly). We don’t boo during the National Anthem, just because someone’s face appears up on the big screens (49ers). I’ve always been proud to be among Giants fans, and I wonder who it really was who shouted at Mrs. Bundchen-Brady. Maybe it was also someone without a dog in the fight, who attended the Superbowl, and decided to root against the Patriots. A lot of people don’t care for the (some might say over-) confidence displayed by the Patriots, and Gisele has not exactly been endeared by the public at large.

Brady lost the game with his safety. Would the situation been different with the Pats having the ball with 57 seconds left and needing only a field goal to win? I think so.

I was for the Giants but must agree. Tom Brady has never been anything but a class act in victory or defeat.

If it’s the pass to Welker that I’m thinking of, it was a poorly thrown pass - too high and behind the receiver, so he kind of had to twist his body back to make the catch. It was catchable, but not an easy catch.

I thought the same thing. Welker was pretty amazing the rest of the game...he didn't make that last difficult catch form a poor throw.

I don't think it is wise for Brady's wife to start pointing fingers.

If her hubby had simply ran five feet to his right while he was in the end zone (before throwing the ball), there wouldn't have been a intentional grounding, thus there wouldn't have been a safety. And all thing being equal, the Pats would have only had to move the ball to the 35 yard line at the end, not make a touchdown. World of difference.

I think Brady lost the game for the Pats because of a mental error.

That said, I’m glad to see any wife passionately stand up for her hubby, stupid or not!
