Democrats’ chances of retaking the House improve
Washington Post ^ | February 6, 2012 | Aaron Blake

Democrats have been saying for a long time that the House could be in play in 2012, and now some Republicans are starting to join them.

“For Democrats to take 25 seats, they will need a wave,” former congressman Tom Davis wrote in an op-ed in The Hill recently. “Continued polarization and obstruction could create such a wave.”

Former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele agreed that keeping the majority isn’t a done deal: “It could be very, very hard.”

And last week, a member of the conservative Wall Street Journal editorial board opined that the GOP majority could be in jeopardy if Republicans don’t make it a priority.

Normally saying something doesn’t make it so. However, tell a lie often enough and it becomes the truth in the minds of those whose discernment has been damaged by the MSM.

The GOP likes to be in the minority. That’s where the gutless and timid hang out and that’s where they’re comfortable. Just look at our Mike Conaway (19th district Texas). The guy is bullet proof and could be re-elected forever. He could be a real voice for conservatives. But you never hear a peep out of him. Why? Because he doesn’t want to offend anyone and he’s gotten comfortable at the feed bag.

If the democrats retake the House and maintain the Senate it will be conservative voters’ fault for not going to the polls.

Gotta have someone to vote for and not just someone to vote against. For the first time in my life I'm gonna sit this one out as the country has systemic problems and there is no one on either side willing to implement systemic solutions. It's gonna get far far worse before it gets better.

Romney and the GOP-E want to lose the House, to get rid of what they call “Tea Party Disease” and “Reaganite holdouts”.

I for one will be sorely disappointed if Romney is the nominee. But I will still go vote against 0bama.

The contrast is stark. Comparing 0bama to Romney is like comparing Lenin, Hitler or Mao to FDR, Johnson or Clinton. As bad as those presidents were they are preferable to a narcissist who no longer has to run for re-election.

Please, hold your nose, and vote GOP for president. At least, show up an vote for the down ticket Republicans. If we hold the House it may allow us to hold on another 4 years.

Continued polarization and obstruction by Democrats. . . . .

I'm so disgusted with what passes for elected Congresscritters it verges on apoplexy!!! We are WAY past time for a complete house (and senate!) cleaning!!!

IMO, politicians from BOTH sides of the aisle need to be dumped and we need to start over. The incumbents in BOTH parties are corrupt, lazy and working either for the destruction of America (Dems and RINOS) or to keep their cushy job (and their VERY cushy paychecks and perks!) in the next election (Dems and 'Pubbies).

DUMP them all!!!

Your idiotic blind hatred of Boehner is telling, dweeb.

Well, I guess there are two of us on this thread. I agree with Lazlo; Boehner has been ineffective and a pushover for the left.

I can't help wondering why the 'Pubbies are unable to get a Speaker who is as ruthless and iron-fisted as the Dems? Pelousy and tiny tommy daschle, among others, were no pushovers. All the 'Pubbies bring to the Speaker's position are Milqtoasts afraid of their own shadow!! We NEED some fighters (Chuck Norris comes to mind, but he isn't running - unfortunately)!!

WaPo conducts polls that are worded to influence opinion, not measure opinion. We call them “push polls”

It is not too much of a stretch to see that WaPo is now conducting “push-journalism”

( putsch-journalism anyone? )

You make a good point, Kas. If Romney is the nominee, I will probably be unable to vote for him in November. HOWEVER, we can vote for Congresscritters and NOT vote for the POTUS and our votes will still count!

Something to consider in Nov.

Take your nonsense and sell it to someone else. I have never missed voting in an election. Ever. That includes off year Primaries for dog catcher. I never sat anything out and never will. The fact is Boehner is weak. Besides his obvious fault of crying at the drop of a hat, he has squandered whatever goodwill the Tea Party had towards the GOP. You forget the phoney budget deal? The fact that the best the GOP can do for Speaker out of 242 members is this fake tan ninny is ridiculous.

The Washington Post on yet another of its psychological opposition warfare(psyops)hit pieces. They think if they write this stuff, it will embolden the Dems, undermine the GOP, and come true. Don’t believe a word of it.

When we didn’t have “obstructionism”, we got “obamacare”. Shouldn’t that be enough evidence that going back would be disasterous?
