Stand With Arizona
Fox Phoenix TV (KSAZ FOX 10) on Thursday showed a ridiculous propaganda piece purporting to show "the Arizona border" and how "safe" it is, as they follow Americans from around the nation on a "tour" of the border. Here's how they describe the piece:
Make your own decision about life on the border. What is life on the border really like? Hop on the Border Bus Tour, and do your own fact finding about what it means to have a secure border. And in the video, the tour leader, Bob Feinman, tells us on the bus that "our objective is just to give you the facts".
But Fox, and correspondent Britt Moreno make "fact finding" rather difficult by withholding key facts about their piece, and by showing a "tour" that itself withholds facts from its participants. The result is Fox 10 makes our decision for us.
In the story, the tourists down to the border to see what "living on the border is really like". Were they shown the desert near Rio Rico, where Border agent Brian Terry was killed, or perhaps the ranch where Robert Krentz was gunned down by an illegal alien he tried to help? Or maybe they showed them part of the Buenos Aires Wildlife Refuge, which the Federal government has ceded to Mexican cartels, and signs warn Americans to stay away?
Not exactly. They are instead taken inside the city of Nogales, AZ, and shown a section of brand new fence, unlike most of the state which has ramshackle fencing or none at all. They say they want to dispel "misconceptions" about the border....as if standing, for 20 minutes, in the daylight, next to a brand new fence, in the middle of town is not a misconception in itself.
Tourists are shown nothing more menacing than a friendly Mexican boy through the fence, making the "peace sign". No sign of the smugglers, rapists, cartel gunmen, MS-13 gangbangers and even terrorists who come across the border - everywhere other than downtown Nogales. Predictably, the participants express amazement at how "safe" the border is, and one aghast woman compares it to "the Berlin Wall".
It gets worse. Moreno then shows participants taken to a nearby stretch of desert with water tanks to help thirsty illegal aliens get across the border, left by the group Humane Borders. But Moreno completely omits the fact that tour leader Feinman is himself a board member of Humane Borders, and that the entire tour's objective is to help raise money for this left-wing group, which promotes amnesty, open borders, unionization of illegal alien workers, and increased aid to Mexico, and in fact receives financial support from Mexico itself.
Here are the "legislative advocacy points" of Humane Borders:

I notice that American reporters never report from the other side of the fence in Mexico. They should go to Tijuana or Nogales and interview people as they are preparing to cross over illegally. Ask them basic questions about their destination, how much they pay to the smugglers, how often do they cross illegally, etc. You cannot understand what the border is like unless you look at it from both sides. I can tell you from personal observation that the border at San Diego is not secure. Illegal aliens go over the fence, under the fence, and through the fence every day. The fence only keeps out fat old ladies.
Spoken from experience. I go to TJ on occasions from L.A. and that video is just pure lib propaganda garbage. Every time some locals even ask me to help them over the border..
...correspondent Britt Moreno...Who should be fired and blackballed, along with the nitwits in charge of the station.
It would be better to drop them all off at the border near nogales , right in the middle of the Federal Protected Smuggling Zone, see if they make it out alive, then let them report on the Border.
Nice touch.
So, contrary to the impression that FOX would want to leave, the views of the tour participants interviewed are NOT representative of the American people as a whole. These "tourists" are largely dupes of "Humane Borders." And the FOXies who produced this piece are dupes themselves, if not shills for the pro-amnesty, open borders movement.
How many pesos was he paid?
Thanks for the ping!
I was thinking along the same lines. Kids growing up in Mexican border towns are corrupted at a very young age.
