Billionaire Gingrich Contributor [Sheldon Adelson] To Cut Support
Business Insider ^ | February 10, 2012 | Jaywon Choe

Posted on 02/10/2012 3:59:14 PM PST by GraniteStateConservative

While billionaire casino mogul Sheldon Adelson may have rescued Newt Gingrich’s campaign in its early days, today, he may have just buried it.

Bloomberg News reports that Adelson, who has donated $11 million to Gingrich’s Super PAC, does not plan to send any more money Gingrich’s way. Bloomberg is citing an anonymous source “familiar with their deliberations,” though an Adelson spokesman declined to comment.

The move seems to be weeks in the making. After poor showings by Gingrich in the last several races and the re-resurgence of Rick Santorum, the former House speaker has once again been pushed to the back of the Republican field. And Adelson may be shifting his focus. According to CNN, Adelson met with Mitt Romney in Nevada last week and “assured Romney that he will be behind him 100 percent should he become the nominee.”

What may be more alarming though is as money seems to be flooding out of the Gingrich camp, it appears to be heading into to Santorum’s, no doubt helped by his three-state sweep Tuesday.

Mr. Rogers can’t beat romney and he certainly can’t beat obama. Then if by some miracle, he should become president, he has no clue about how to turn things around. A Senator? What does he know about anything? Senators are notoriously stupid.

Mr. Rogers -lol. The sweater vest looks so pathetic. Mr. Rogers had more charisma. Most of his speeches are filled with rambling platitudes. Recently you can tell that he is stealing a lot of what Newt is saying.

When I went to his site a while back his solutions were quite general and as bland as he.The guy has truly accomplished little in life that warrants seeking the highest office in the land. Hubris. He would serve society better by getting a "real" job in the private sector.

Ditto to that.

Romney's loss this last week shows that he's extremely vulnerable.

At this point, it's anyone's ballgame! And Newt, were it not for the millions of Romney's negative ads, would be solidly in the lead.

Santorum is a fiscal liberal and social conservative. He votes "yes" on entitlement programs and joined Bono to raise money to fight world Aids. PUKE!

You wanna contribute something positive, or are you here, on a Newt thread, soley to hurl insulting remarks at our candidate, and agitate?

Enough trolling Newt news threads to get your esteem up, from around your ankles.

Are you on mom’s computer again?

Newt’s slide is due SOLELY to Romney’s millions in negative (and false) ads. When he pulls back ahead...the money will be there.

Yeah! It’s insulting . . . to Mr. Rogers. Saintorum is far more boring and less inspiring that Mr. Rogers—actually, a dead fish is more inspiring that Rick the Saint.

Absolutely! All the Saintorum supporters who are thread crapping here are going to be really disappointed after Mitt's money machine gets finished smearing him and he plummets.

Newt Gingrich is the only man offering real, workable solutions to our problems. If he is not nominated, I believe the nation will continue on its course into the abyss of socialism and deconstruction.

Once Mr Rogers is vetted

I lean towards Newt over Santorum, but I am getting really sick of the circular firing squad antics between the Newt and Santorum zealots.

Both are vastly superior to Mitt, RuPaul and Obama. That is where the fire should be directed. Make the case why your choice is best, but it's short-sighted to be tearing down the other conservative as part of trying to make that case.

Please don’t address any more of this trash to me. The politics of personal destruction, name-calling, hateful speech, etc. has no real place in an honest political discussion. Personally, I think it’s a real turn-off.

Santorum is a nice but dull guy...completely unqualified for the presidency in this almost unfathomably complex world.

Newt gets it and has digested it.

IMO there isn't even a choice...

If Newt doesn't get the nom..we can bend over and kiss our fannies buh-bye!

I don’t think Bloomberg and Business Insider are very good sources but time will tell.

If Sheldon Adelson watched CPAC today, he had to have been impressed.

GO NEWT!

GO TEA PARTY!

When Santorum lost in 2006 he only got 40% of the vote. He can’t beat Obama. He’s a big government guy. And we need to STOP spending.

dirtboy, I do not consider Santorum to be a conservative. I have read his voting record. That being said..once the real vetting of Rick begins he is toast.
