Why You Should Spend a $2 Bill at Starbucks on Feb. 14
The Truth About Guns ^ | 25 January, 2012 | Robert Farago

Posted on 02/14/2012 8:44:06 AM PST by marktwain

Gun bloggers Sebastian and gay cynic responded to the National Gun Victims Action Council recent announcement of a Valentine’s Day Starbucks boycott by organizing a BUYcott. Greg’s asking gun owners to reward Starbucks for its firearms policy by buying a beverage or food item with a two dollar bill (representing the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms) on February 14th. Not forgetting to “thank the clerk for Starbucks’ support of the Constitution.” Ahead of Starbuck’s Appreciation Day–which has now gone viral—our own Tim Tritt contacted the Seattle coffeesmith to voice his support for their support for gun rights. The company emailed him the following . . .

Dear Tim,

Thank you for contacting Starbucks Coffee Company.

Thank you for your feedback regarding Starbucks’ policy on open carry laws.

At Starbucks, we deeply respect the views of our customers and recognize that there is significant and genuine passion surrounding the issue of open carry weapons laws. We comply with local laws and statutes in the communities we serve. Our long-standing approach to this issue remains unchanged and we abide by the laws that permit open carry in 43 U.S. states. Where these laws don’t exist, openly carrying weapons in our stores is prohibited.

As the public debate around this issue continues, we encourage customers and advocacy groups from both sides to share their input with their public officials. We are extremely sensitive to the issue of gun violence in our society and believe that supporting local laws is the right way for us to ensure a safe environment for both partners and customers.

If you have any further questions or concerns that I was unable to address, please feel free to let me know.

Warm Regards,

Kelsey F

Where the heck do you get $2 bills? I’ve been asking around and the best answer I can get is “special order 100 ($200)”.

NO thanks, this company is as homophilic as a nambla parade. I will not rub elbows with the supporters of sexual deviance or its marketers.

I wouldn’t support any group or business until I know they’re going to stick to their “guns” and not buckle under to leftist pressure like the Susan Komen organization did.

They were in the news recently for openly backing fag marriage in WA state, and I agree..no homo/lefty politics.

Then again..2 yrs ago, my ex-GF made a complaint about an employee at a local Starbucks. Contacted Starbucks and they later asked for her name and address (she gave my address). Days later, I receive an apology letter addressed in her name from Starbucks including 10 coupons for free coffee at any Starbucks, and I passed on the coupons to her.

I am was a huge Starbucks lover (I mainly buy bags of their beans); but I will no longer support a company that states that "support for gay marriage is the core of who we are as a company".

It is a lot easier for them not to cave if they are shown some support. If they see a bump up of $2 bills on valentines day, and not other times, it sends a powerful message.

Sorry, Starbucks has endorsed the homoradical agenda and I hope they all burn down.

I’m not playing.

Because Starbucks coffee is not something I like. I get far better coffee from a locally owned ‘mom & pop’ store - they roast their own, right there in the store... always fresh. And the ‘mom & pop’ are staunch conservative, christian folks too. I’d much rather “buy local” than support a behemoth like Starbucks any day.

Unfortunately, there are many reasons not to support Starbucks.

1. Their coffee is second-rate.

2. Their prices are high.

3. Most of their customers are Libs.

4. They support liberal causes, including gay activism.

5. There aren’t any Starbucks around here, anyway.

FWIW, the best coffee I’ve found, other than making it yourself at home, is at . . . Dunkin’ Donuts.

Any company run by perverts who promote and celebrate homosexuality as a core value of theirs is not a place where I would spend any money of mine at all. If you want to have to wonder about what ingredients they may think are also in line with their core values then go ahead but I would not trust any pervert business such as Starbucks.

You are selling out the future of our children and their freedom with your two dollar bill to a bunch of perverts.

Who cares?

Their coffee is good and their banana bread is awesome. As long as I don’t get accosted by an employee to support homo-”marriage” I’m not getting all wee-weed up about it. It’s probably just a marketing thing anyway, like “going green”

Support Starbucks and you are supporting the homosexual agenda. I don’t need to thank them for following the law.

Beside that, I hear their coffee is nasty.

I will believe starbuck represents American values and Americanism when:

“North State Shooting Competition: sponsored by Starbucks.”

“How to pass the Federal Marriage Amendment Conference: sponsored by Starbucks.”

“Latte and ammo combo pack.”

Starbucks has the right company policy with regard to open carry laws - it respects the local law.

That’s neither a pro or anti gun position.

So, on the one hand, I would prefer they follow that same agnostic position on other social issues and just kept to doing their core business well.

On the other hand, some on this thread not only want a Starbucks that is less of a social activist on some of the issues it is a social activist now, and want a Starbucks that instead becomes a social activist on their preferred issues.

Myself, I prefer companies that do not try to win anyone over on any social issue but instead stick to their core business, period, and by staying out of everyone’s activist issues tries to do well for all its potential customers.

Indeed. I am constantly amazed at companies that alienate half their base when they should just shut up and sell their products.

Is it even possible to support both sexual deviance and 2nd amendment?
