Rasmussen Poll National (Santorum 39%, Romney 27%)
Rasmussen ^ | 2/15/12 | staff

Posted on 02/15/2012 9:30:10 AM PST by TexasFreeper2009

Follow the bouncing ball. Former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum has now bounced to a 12-point lead over Mitt Romney in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Republican Primary Voters finds Santorum with 39% support to the former Massachusetts governor’s 27%. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich follows from a distance with 15% of the vote, and Texas Congressman Ron Paul runs last with 10%. Three percent (3%) like some other candidate in the race, and six percent (6%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Just over a week ago, it was Romney leading the pack with 34% after his win in the Florida Primary, followed by Gingrich 27%, Santorum 18% and Paul 11%. But then last week Santorum swept GOP caucuses in Colorado and Minnesota and a non-binding primary in Missouri as Gingrich continues to stumble in the race to be the conservative alternative to Romney.

Perhaps more tellingly, Santorum now trounces Romney 55% to 34% in a one-on-one matchup among likely GOP primary voters. This is the first time any challenger has led Romney nationally in a head-to-head match-up. Santorum also leads Romney head-to-head in Michigan.

Nationally, Romney still wins 47% to 38% paired against Gingrich and 47% to 42% running against only Paul.

It’s because Newt married the women he cheated with and left the wife. Bill always returned home to Hillary.

Is there room for a former Huck/Newt/Cainite like me on Ricky’s bus?

..to help Santorum crush the Massachusetts Lib and then go run over the Washington DC Libs!

Even after those Saturday morning “phony jogs” in Little Rock where he’d get a quickie, then on the way back get a garden hose somewhere and wet himself down to look sweaty, and return to the executive mansion and the Hildebeast. LOL. State Troopers told to shut up about it. You could make a country music song up about such hijinks.

GREAT AD!!! Contrast this with how Gingrich fought back against Rombo...Gingrich came across looking angry and desperate ...Santorum’s ad NAILS the Rino while still looking presidential.... excellent

I agree. ;-)

Yeah, look at that graph. Santorum was at less than 5%, 1%,2% etc for a very long time. Palin has a million times the charisma Santorum does. So now Sarah Palin would be so far ahead of the others if only she had not allowed the media to push her out of this race. Ditto for Perry, Cain, Bachmann. They allowed the media to make them quit.Santorum didn't quit even after calls from Gingrich supporters to quit.

Lesson to all: NEVER SURRENDER!

I would still like to see Palin enter if only to make liberals' head explode! lol.

“And Palin has a million times more charisma than Santorum. Palin would be so far ahead now.”

Ditto. I really doubt we’d be going through this now because the non-Romneys would have had a candidate to get behind from the get-go.

And I don’t understand the perception that she dropped out because of the media. The media had YEARS to throw everything they possibly could (and more) at her... and they did. And I don’t believe it worked.

As far as I’m concerned, Sarah looked fate in the eye, and turned her back, leaving us with the Romneybot, a sanctimonious, personality-challenged guy who couldn’t even win his own STATE, and a guy who was so demonized by the Media for YEARS that there’s very little chance he could ever win election as dog-catcher. Oh, yeah. And the nutty old man. Almost forgot about him.

THESE clowns are what we have to run against the worst President in history (by FAR)... and they’re such LOUSY candidates we might even lose against HIM.

“Palin would be so far ahead now.”
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I respectfully disagree, women are the majority of registered voters and women decide in the end who is president, either by their vote or the withholding of their vote. The majority of women (the majority of the majority voting segment) tend to vote for “liberals”. In 2008 women chose a totally unqualified, unvetted “man” and I use the parentheses because I consider him a poor excuse for a man, over Hillary Clinton, a liberal democrat woman.

What all that boils down to is this, women WILL decide this primary and the general election, if they did not want a liberal democrat woman why does anyone think they want a conservative Republican woman? I think Sarah Palin is smart enough to see all this and that is why she is not running.

With Clinton they identified with the beautiful young mistress (Flowers) being pursued by the handsome and powerful, young, tall and virile man on the rise (in more ways than one). With Gingrich they identify with the ex-wife of the dirty old man with the sour expression. Clinton was a true enemy of women but he could get away with anything, including rape and excuses would be made. Gingrich is just an ordinary, fallible man but no excuses will be made for his behavior. Of course above all else is the fact that Clinton rides a jackass and acts like one while Gingrich rides an elephant and trumpets like one. The collection of clowns we laughingly refer to as the news media will do anything to make the jackass rider look good and they will do all in their power to make the elephant rider look bad, especially if he tells the truth about our corrupt system.

Mitt Romney’s problem is …

everyone thinks he is lying.

Liberals and Moderates think he is secretly one of them (and thus support him) and just think he is lying when he goes around calling himself a conservative.

Conservatives think he is a liberal or a moderate at best (and thus oppose him) and just think he is lying when he goes around calling himself a conservative.

We have finally found something that Liberals, Moderates, and Conservatives all agree on! Mitt Romney is a liar!

Palin could have been leading by much more. She has a million times the charisma Santorum does.

Hillary Clinton could have won the Medal of Honor if only she had joined the Marine Corps when she thought about doing it.

I’m curious how Newt is so toxic to women but Bill Clinton was so loved? It’s obviously not just the cheating. Was it because Newt cheated multiple times or because of how he announced it to his previous wives.

So many stupid women are Dems and Wm JC had at least some good looks. Newt the conservative is too frumpy and not very appealing to the airheads. The media pegs them and the stupid eat it up for lunch.

Palin would beat Santorum.

Sarah Palin would be far ahead of Santorum now so then she would be the leader. And she would beat Obama.

Palin might still run also.

If Santorum can rack up a few more states before Super Tuesday, he could blow the others out of the water sooner, rather than later.

If Santorum does that we are dead f*ing meat in November.

By the time the democrat hate machine gets done with Rev'rund Santorum and his war against women, he will not be able to make a public appearance in America without being laughed off the stage.

Wake up call.
