The city of Henderson has done its darndest over the past week to erode the already depleted stores of public trust in government.
First, we learn the city will pay a man $257,000 because he was in diabetic shock and driving erratically when he was pulled from his car by police at gunpoint, forcibly restrained on his stomach and then kicked in the head. We also learned the officer who did the kicking, Sgt. Brett Seekatz, kept his job and his rank.
Next, as I reported last week, we learned that members of the City Council found out about the incident, which occurred in October 2010, in just the past few weeks, and in one case, a day before the meeting at which the council authorized the settlement

Nevada, the only state at which a legal brothel can be found, has a lot of this sort of scandal too.
Some have blamed it on Mormons. I’ve never seen that hypothesis treated dispassionately. Mormonism on paper reads like a clean living, high integrity faith even if its theology is weird and wrong. How many of its most ardent proponents have gone down in history might be another question.
Our sheriff in Henderson County NC made many unfortunate decisions because of his medical condition. Insurance made some huge payouts because of his sexual harassment of County employees. He now get a ‘medical Retirement”. He claims a diagnosis of being bi-polar.At least we know he is bi-sexual. This is happening now.
A cult founded on sex and wealth and the creation of a new religion, has to have some flaws to it which cannot ever be overcome.
“At least we know he is bi-sexual.”
I’ve been following this story. Is there suspicion he as a dark secret?
My town is paying for a health care policy for an ex-mayor who is in prison for child porn. Prisons provide care, he doesn’t need nor use the insurance. What a waste of money!
Okay, boys & girls, it's story time.
Many years ago the Mrs. & I were driving from Vegas to Reno....stopped at a quik-stop kinda place for gas & snacks. It turned out to also be a house of ill repute in back. They actually had brochures you could take, and they turned out to be...uhhhh....errrr....menues.
Well it happened that our son (a single father of 2) was to deploy on boomer patrol about a month later. There is a tradition that families pack "half-way boxes" that are stored aboard the sub and everyone opens their box during a midcruise party, in front of everybody.
Normal fare is snacks, videos, love letters, most anything they would like or want.
My wife packed his box with the usual stuff, and included....yup.
He naturally passed it around to the guys, the consensus was he had a pretty cool mom.
Oh, my wife kept a real close watch on me for the rest of that trip.
Mama pulling a weird one on the alley cat son?
Hummmm?
He's an Eagle Scout, his son gets his Eagle next month.
He is somewhat gullible and easygoing, but you will not find a more moral person.
He adopted his ex'es daughter, got custody of both kids in the divorce, and has been an exemplary father.
His mom & I are damned proud of him.
Sounds to me like your whole family is one to be proud of, kudos to you all.
Thank you FRiend.
I've heard about the other stuff, but that's the first I've heard this allegation. Do you have any sourcing to back that up? As far as I know, it hasn't been in any of the local news outlets.
The Sun obtained the dashboard camera video of the incident through a public records request with the Nevada Highway Patrol Henderson police did not have dash cameras at the time.
Greene sued the state and Henderson. He and his wife agreed to a settlement of about $250,000 from Henderson and $35,000 from the state.
Now Clark County officials are considering installing dashboard cameras in Las Vegas police cruisers. The head of the police officers union, however, says installing those cameras is something that would need to be negotiated in the union contract.
