Hundreds of family, friends, entertainers, sports figures and even some former "Soul Train" dancers gathered to honor Cornelius' legacy and recall their recollections of the baritone-voiced host and entrepreneur. The nearly three-hour memorial service featured plenty of laughter and music, including a rousing performance of "Love's In Need of Love" by Stevie Wonder.

I would rather see Don celebrated than that drug addict from NJ.

Wasn’t it The Soul Train Awards people who bullied Whitney Houston for not being black enough?

Just thinking about her poor daughter.

I love Soul Train. Watched it with my friends on the weekends. Don’t think I ever heard anything like this from anyone I’d ever seen on that show:

[ Don Cornelius was remembered Thursday as the man who elevated black culture and entertainment with his “Soul Train,” ]

Bull black culture sucks.. for more reasons than Soul Train but that TV show added to the sucking.. Affirmative action was and is racist.. Black TV shows, cable channels, movies and even magazines are racist.. The Black Caucus in Congress is as bad as the KKK.. maybe worse because of the lessons the KKK taught us.. “We” should know better than that.. Seems americans have actually learned nothing..

American black culture is toxic and poisonous in everything it touches..
RAP is not music and Jazz is not black.. and many blacks are not black at all they are mulattos.. like Barry half-white..

Basing anything on the color of your skin is divisive in the extreme..

Because Soul Train was a R and B hit music venue, not a sporting event.

Well, they sure ridiculed her without noticing differences.

I know you are itching to defend this woman. I watched Being Bobby Brown when it was on TV. After watching those two idiots and the way they acted around their kids, I was put off. Do I like Whitney Houston and her lifestyle? Hell To The No. (Her phrase, not mine)

Don was the man. He lived not too far where I grew up.

Didn’t Don produce/bankroll a bunch of really bad blacksploitation films?

I lived north of Chicago in the late 60s and early 70s. I watched Soul Train and I liked Don Cornelius. The Supremes and The Jackson Five were very popular there at that time.

I considerd Soul Train as another American Bandstand. I thought it was just as entertaining.

Wow...ok.

Now that was simply a stupid broad brush rant that has nothing to do with this man or show.

Yes but heck I’d rather hang out with Louis Armstrong, Art Tatum, W. C. Handy, Robert Johnson, or heck even Flava Flav, than you. Okay scratch Flava Flav.

What, no Chris Brown who beat up his girlfriend Rhianna? No Kanye West who blames Bush for Americas problems? What about all the rappers who tell you constantly of the life they lead featuring Ho’s, Pimps, Gun Runners, Drug Dealers?

Tell the truth about America, the black culture is not based on Christian principles and therefore is inherently bad for anyone affected by it. Not all blacks are part of this culture either, but there are many who use it like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

And you most likely know nothing about hosepipe, so your rant means nothing really.
