Bruce Springsteen wants to see the United States transformed into something closer to a Swedish-style welfare state, the rock legend said Thursday as he unveiled his latest studio album “The Wrecking Ball” to reporters.

Let me add this point....having spent six weeks in Denmark. First, nobody much moves around....wherever you were born, you stay. Gas runs $9 a gallon, so you really don’t drive much....nor are there that many accidents. Speed limits? Max is 65 around the interstate, and maybe high 50’s for regular two-lane road. Most folks try to live in their little village and shop there too....to avoid gas costs. Drugs? You don’t find anybody on any kind of significant drugs....so crime isn’t much of an issue, nor is violence. You don’t need guns....mostly because there is no threat from anyone much.

A guy could go up and stay a while....and start to feel it’s awful peaceful. But then, you start to look at your lifestyle and how most folks never get ahead. You barely take home 50 percent of your salary, and you won’t find anyone with expensive cars in your neighborhood....mostly because they can’t afford them. Everyone is accepting of this limited lifestyle....mostly because they got used to it. If you are a person who would like to move ahead in life....you’d best pack a bag, and sail off to the US, because your life will never amount to much.
