Female Combat Pilot Wants to Kick Santorum 'in the Jimmy' for Remarks on Women
Fox Houston/FoxAndFriends ^ | February 17, 2012 | Fox Houston/FoxAndFriends

A retired female fighter pilot running for former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' open seat in Congress said Friday that Rick Santorum's recent remarks on women in combat make her want to "go kick him in the jimmy."

Martha McSally, a retired US Air Force colonel and a veteran of the war in Afghanistan, is running in Arizona's congressional special election as a Republican. According to her Facebook page, she was the first American woman to fly in combat since the 1991 lifting of a ban on women in that role.

Appearing Friday morning on FOX News Channel's "FOX & Friends," she called the Republican presidential candidate "completely out of touch" for saying that the "emotions" felt by men seeing a female soldier in harm's way may jeopardize their mission.

The "Jimmy"??

Huh? Doesn't she have the balls to say "balls"?

I always admired a college pal's nickname for his equipment..."Lopey the Spoiler." Sure beats "Jimmy."

Many men get raped when they are in enemy hands.

When have American men been raped as POWs?

I don’t know anything about this woman—except that she’s a Demonrat.

I do know that the Air Force used affirmative action to promote a number of female pilots above their capabilities, and that that caused problems.

I’m not saying that no woman could be a combat pilot. But I don’t think all this affirmative action stuff has made our military better. People are promoted simply because they are women, or Muslims, or whatever the latest affirmative action gimmick might be.

Great. A coddled, affirmative action combat pilot weighs in...

" What happens when a female pilot gets captured?"

They've been known to get Jimmied to death. But what the hell do I know what with only being combat deployed 3 times in two different wars.

“The Israelis took women out of combat positions. The great socialist egalitarian experiment didn’t work, and because wrecking your military with women in positions that they don’t handle well would have profoundly negative consequences for Israel, they decided to chose survival over making the feminazis happy.”

Exactly. I think we should make the feminazis who scream the loudest should be put right in the front lines(i.e., Hitlery Rotten Clinton, Patsy Schroeder, Gloria Steinman, Nancy Lugosi, etc.)

The press misses the irony of irony of make a violent threat while seeking to succeed Gabby who resigned because she was the victim of violence.

FWIW: She is WAY behind in the Republican primary for the special election to fill the seat Gabby is finally leaving. The two guys with a big lead on her are also both combat vets (on the ground - one USMC, the other Army Special Forces). The SF guy was given a Bronze Star for Valor...which means he went way beyond anything McSally has experienced.

Also - McSally had a horrible reputation with her peers. I met a number of A-10 guys who knew her, and none said anything nice.

Her career path was political:

“In 1999, Martha was one of only seven active-duty Air Force officers selected for the prestigious Legislative Fellowship Program, working on Capitol Hill and serving as a national security advisor to Senator Jon Kyl on issues including terrorism, cyber security and missile defense.”

“...earned her Masters Degree, in Public Policy, from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.” - while on active duty.

“She earned an Honorary Doctorate in Civil Law from Rhode Island College and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Center on Women in Policing. The Freedom Forum named Martha as one of three national winners of the 2002 Al Neuharth Free Spirit Award.

Before resigning to run for office, Martha was Professor of National Security Studies at the George C. Marshall Center in Germany where she taught and mentored senior government officials from all over the world in international and national security issues.”

All quotes from her campaign website (http://mcsallyforcongress.com/about-martha/bio/).

Having spent much of my career deployed, I have always despised folks like Gifford’s husband & McSally who spent as little time in ops as needed to punch their career tickets.

Any “gal” who wants badly enough to be one of the guys to get a Marine shave haircut should be permitted. All others, nyet. Even Israel gave it up.

The article says she is a Republican, or it least running as a Republican. Is there any reason you think she is a democrat, or did you just misread?

"It’s a different situation when you have bombs dropping around you, then dropping bombs."

And what about when RPGs and surface-to-air missles are flying at these female combat pilots?

There are already legless females who piloted combat aircraft over Iraq and Afghanistan.

Our women folk need to be home raising the next generation of moral, charactered, Christian patriots. They should not be out on the front lines ; ESPECIALLY not those who have husbands and children back home.

It’s war.

If it happens in prison, it certainly happens in POW camps.

"For example if a woman wants to be in the infantry, she must meet the same PT requirements as the men are required to. Must be comfortable taking a piss without a toilet right in front of the other soldiers. And must be able to keep herself from getting sexually entangled with her fellow soldiers. Now I suspect very few women meet that criteria...but those that do should be allowed to serve in then infantry if they really want to."

Why should the Army be turned upside down to accommodate this 1% (and that's being generous) of women who "really want to?" Specifically, how would having women in the combat arms enhance our fighting ability in any way?

It wouldn’t. In any way. But as we both know, that isn’t the goal of the folks arguing for change...
