Just who the hell is Sean Trende?

He's a pundit. Never done anything, just writes shit for blogs and second rate magazines.

I don't watch TV to speak of, but the radio ads in Ohio from Romney's Superpac are starting to mount. The theme is that Santorum is a big spending beltway insider who really isn't much of a conservative.

A brokered convention is NOT what we want - because none of the candidate "brokers" are trustworthy.

My presumption is that Obama will crush Romney OR Santorum, that Paul won't be nominated under any circumstances, and that, although Newt could beat Obama his actual flaws will bring him down before November.

So...

What we need is a deadlocked convention, where the delegates (who are the people who should be picking the nominee anyway) have to hammer it out.

He does mention her. See post #9. More as a doomsday scenario. These people have no core values.

"Sean Trende is Senior Elections Analyst for RealClearPolitics."

I'll take competent political analysis, thank you. IMHO, he's almost as good as Mike Barone.

My original order of preference was Palin, Cain and Bachmann. I'll vote for either Gingrich or Santorum, the one who has the best chance of beating Romney in NY.

The problem with Palin is that she polls badly with independents. At this point I'm an Anybody But Obama. He must be defeated!

I like RealClearPolitics because it's not an echo chamber. You can get all viewpoints there, not just domestic, plus news.

I want to know what the left is saying about particular issues. Whoever thought the left would bring up free contraception just for women?

This lot of GOP candidates have so destroyed each other during the Primary process, I don't think any of them could beat Obozo now; for real.

I don't think they did that to each other -- the Media did it. Except for holding off on Romney until Florida, they backed up the truck on everybody. Especially in the formatting of the debates.

the scumbag establishment elite wants to send a message to real conservatives. The message is, “Shut up and take what you can get.

Concurring bump.

The alternative explanation is that they don't want the White House this year (and don't care about what Obozo might do in four more years), they just want to make sure that a conservative doesn't slip in there and screw up their patronage picture.

Concurring bump.

One little suggested change, though:

avoids Obama’s THE MEDIA'S ability to focus on one candidate early.....

The real culprit.

I have it in the back of my mind that Sarah's dropping out (supposedly) in September was actually a strategic duck-dive to avoid the media character assassins, and that she'll suddenly re-emerge in June or July, unless a strong contender steps forth to claim the nomination before the convention.

Just a thought.

The media didn’t have to do it. All they had to do was report what the candidates did to each other especially RINO-Rom who wants this thing so badly this time, he will resort to anything.
