There's an agenda behind those cookies the Girl Scouts sell, one bent on promoting communism, lesbianism and subverting "traditional American family values," according to an Indiana lawmaker.
That's the reason Rep. Bob Morris, a Republican representing Fort Wayne, insists he won't go along with a resolution meant to honor the Girls Scouts on the organization's 100th anniversary.
Morris owns a chain of nutrition stores, but it's not the fat and sugar in Girl Scout cookies that have him riled up. "After talking to some well-informed constituents, I did a small amount of Web-based research, and what I found is disturbing, Morris wrote Saturday to Republican House colleagues in a letter obtained by the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette. Morris alleged that the Girl Scouts of America and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts "have entered into a close strategic affiliation with Planned Parenthood," which he claimed is trying to "sexualiz(e) young girls through the Girl Scouts."
Even worse, he wrote, only three of the 50 role models promoted by the Girl Scouts have even "a briefly-mentioned religious background."
"All the rest are feminists, lesbians, or Communists," he wrote.

” understand your weakness but you do know the majority of cookie profits go the national organization which is then using that money to indoctrinate girls with their leftist, progressive agenda.”
that is absolutely positively false
cookie profits go to the troops and the Councils, not to the national organization. We use the money for the evil agenda of camping and other programs
You’re literally way out in Left Field if you do not see the massive and long running subversive nature of the GSA. It is no tin-foil hat subject my FRiend. The GSA bureaucrats seem pretty comfortable with any and all Leftist causes and Lib role models. Research it yourself.
I'm curious if their sales have gone down this year...but, they'd probably never admit that.
Actually in my baseball league playing days I was a Right Fielder and depending who was at bat a Far Right Fielder.
I am still a Right Fielder in politics. However I still support my local GSA Troop and buy their cookies for the reasons stated in Post #21.
AND I really enjoy the Shortbread Cookies with coffee in the AM when I check in to read the Posts and Comments from my fellow Freeper FRiends. :>) Regards!
“They were so excited to be doing it. You could tell this was a big day for them. And too little to know or care about anything other than selling cookies.”
No doubt the Hitler Youth looked cute and excited, too. I quit buying cookies in the 90s when I discovered what people had been put into leadership. I won’t support their agenda, but I will be nice when I decline the children pimped to get it’s support.
Thanks ColdOne.
I have been aware for some time that the people in leadership positions were not people I would choose as role models, but when you actually see a list of them in one place (a they display at the 100 questions to ask GSA website, which I had not seen) it is alarming.
Leftists have no qualms about leveraging children for their purposes, but they can rationalize it because “it is for the good of the children”.
A real eye-opener in that respect is the global warming hoax as described by Christopher Horner in his book “Red Hot Lies”, and how children are used to further that agenda.
None of us here will take it out on the kids, we know right from wrong, but we don’t have to a actively support that organization, either.

I didn’t buy cookies either. Just donate to your troop leader. They can always use the money and don’t have to give it to the GS Cookie monster! The girls are very glad to get an extra $5 or $10 dollars for their outings. G-d knows the troop leaders could use the money for gas!
It first dawned on me years ago how leftist the GSA is when they decided to remove "God" from the GSA Promise. Girls were allowed and encouraged to substitute any other word they wanted to for God.
I also remember that the Boy Scout camps always started on Sunday afternoon and ended on Saturday, so that scouts could attend Sunday services. They also had schedules that would accommodate Jewish scouts and had chaplains at the camps.
The Girl Scouts, on the other hand, started their camps on Sunday morning, so that none of the scouts or their families could attend services that week, and their staff couldn't attend for the whole summer.
And don't even talk to me about the local group that brought in a lewd cross-dresser for the "entertainment" at the adult awards ceremony.
By the time my daughter was out of Girl Scouts, I was thoroughly disgusted with them. There is a reason the leftists go after the Boy Scouts and leave the Girl Scouts alone.
Not a dime until they clean up their values. For the first time we passed by the cookie sale without buying. Oh well.
