U.S. does not believe Iran is trying to build nuclear bomb
The Los Angeles Times ^ | February 23, 2012 | Ken Dilanian

As U.S. and Israeli officials talk publicly about the prospect of a military strike against Iran's nuclear program, one fact is often overlooked: U.S. intelligence agencies don't believe Iran is actively trying to build an atomic bomb.

A highly classified U.S. intelligence assessment circulated to policymakers early last year largely affirms that view, originally made in 2007. Both reports, known as national intelligence estimates, conclude that Tehran halted efforts to develop and build a nuclear warhead in 2003.

The most recent report, which represents the consensus of 16 U.S. intelligence agencies, indicates that Iran is pursuing research that could put it in a position to build a weapon, but that it has not sought to do so.

Although Iran continues to enrich uranium at low levels, U.S. officials say they have not seen evidence that has caused them to significantly revise that judgment. Senior U.S. officials say Israel does not dispute the basic intelligence or analysis....

Gee they might be surprised when any day the Iranians test their weapon. Lets just hope the test isn’t on a missile aimed at Israel.

Just yesterday I read something about the Iranian scientist that was blown up. It said: “Mostafa’s ultimate goal was the annihilation of Israel,” Fatemeh Bolouri Kashani told FNA on Tuesday. The article went on to say: “Iran’s 32-year-old Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan Behdast, a chemistry professor and a deputy director of commerce at Natanz uranium enrichment facility, was assassinated during the morning rush-hour in the capital early January. His driver was also killed in the terrorist attack.” Yeah nothing there. Nothing to worry about.

There is no doubt in my formerly military mind that Mossad has a better feel for what the Iranians are doing than the CIA does. What that means, to me anyhow, is they undoubtedly have information that they are not sharing with the US.

And why should they? Especially when they know that there is a good chance it will end up in Tehran — or on the evening news — the same day it’s shared.

Obama is worried about the election, Israel is worried about whether it can survive as a nation with a nuclear-armed Iran. They cannot afford to take the same level of chances.

It must be that annihilation thing that made for the oopsie involving the guy’s car. Certainly he wouldn’t have been part of a nuclear warhead program. Religion of peace and all that. I just realized why Mooshelle is all excited about peas. She got confused hearing about the religion of peas.

“Mostafa’s ultimate goal was the annihilation of Israel,” Fatemeh Bolouri Kashani told FNA on Tuesday.

Bolouri Kashani also underlined that her spouse loved any resistance figure in his life who was willing to fight the Zionist regime and supported the rights of the oppressed Palestinian nation.

Iran’s 32-year-old Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan Behdast, a chemistry professor and a deputy director of commerce at Natanz uranium enrichment facility, was assassinated during the morning rush-hour in the capital early January. His driver was also killed in the terrorist attack.”

Then why are we joining all these other countries in imposing sanctions on Iran? You can’t have it both ways!

That was my thought. Either way...you are a BIG liar. You either lied in 2007 when you said they weren't making nukes privately but said they were publicly...or you are lying NOW when you say publicly we can't let them get nukes...but you release info that shows they really aren't.

Either way, someone's lying.

It really doesn't matter what Zer0 or his administration think or say. Israel will make the final decision on Iran's nuclear threat. Zer0 will find out when he starts seeing the mushrooms blooming over Tehran and the various nuke sites. Certain other Arab states will also get a stiff dose of reality from Iran's demise — or they can join Iran's fate.

I suppose our new posture is, “better sorry than safe”? We can always apologize if we’re wrong. We do a lot of that these days.

All this means is they have already established their warhead design so they shelved that part of their program in 2003. Now they are working on the more difficult part, producing the fuel for the warhead. The missiles are already perfected.

This is an intentional leak by the Obama administration to preempt Israeli action and whip up public opposition for stopping any action.

There will be no U.S. action against Iran while Obama is in the White House.

Of course they would take this position. Obama wants Israel “balanced” by a nuclear Iran. It solves his problem: Israel will be forced to give up half its land for “peace”.

Iran is dealing in Gold ONLY, just Qaddafi was wanting to do in Libya, doing away with USD and not allowing a Central Bank, like our Federal Reserve

if you look around, there are only about 3 countries not living with a foreign owned and controlled Central bank like our Federal Reserve

Iran is one of them, Syria is another

“How reassuring.”

Israel wouldn’t be taking out their scientists and sending viruses into their computers if they didn’t fear something. I’ll take the intelligence of their government over the intelligence of our government any day of the week.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is a peaceful man who’s baking cupcakes for his dollies in a hardened underground bunker. Of course. When we get an invitation from Ali to attend a tea party, served with proper English finger sandwiches with the crusts neatly trimmed away, how foolish we will feel.

Ack!
