Voters say Santorum can't beat Obama
The Morning Call ^ | February 26, 2012

Posted on 02/25/2012 9:07:46 PM PST by Red Steel

Many Pennsylvanians think the former senator's beliefs are too extreme for the presidency.

WASHINGTON — Rick Santorum may be a mystery, a bit of an anomaly, to most American voters, but Pennsylvanians have known him a long time. And six years ago they overwhelmingly chose to sever ties.

Now Santorum has re-emerged as a serious contender in the Republican presidential primary, and Pennsylvania voters have mixed feelings about his return. At best, most find him honest about his beliefs. At worst, half say those beliefs are too extreme for the presidency.

Just 13 percent feel strongly that Santorum could beat President Barack Obama in the general election, compared with 45 percent who feel strongly that he cannot, according to a new Morning Call/Muhlenberg College poll of Pennsylvania voters.

The poll surveyed 625 registered Pennsylvania voters from Feb. 15 to Feb. 21 and has a 4 point margin of error.

One respondent, Mary Ellen Brimmer, 73, of New Holland, Lancaster County, said she's hoping Santorum does not win the nomination. Not because she has any vivid memories of his time as senator or because she doesn't share his views, but because he couldn't win the grand prize.

"I know Obama will just run away with him and I hope Obama will be finished," Brimmer, a Republican, said. "They'll clean up the floor with him. I just don't think he's capable."

So we must then ask the logical question, why has Red Steel chosen to use a leftist rag as opposed to Gallup to put Santorum in an untrue light? Or is this some tit-for-tat because Gingrich is not visible even in the rear view mirror?

The Morning Call used to be as thick as the New York times. 5 or 6 full sections and a real job to read front to back. About ten years ago, some Leftist broad became the editor and really started slanting the news. The ABE area isn’t the San Fran area she thought it was and people started to just stop buying it. The cities are real Communist havens, but the surrounding areas are RINO to Conservative and they are the ones that read the paper. Plus it is still in English so the city dwellers who speak Spanish (Puerto Ricans) don’t read it.

Red Steel is in the tank for Newton. He just didn’t realize that this source for information is a loser. He couldn’t because he isn’t a local. Was Comma Do. (PA Dutch for “what are you going to do.”)

It will. Once the republicans select someone. anyone.. All the fire they have been directing at each other will turn to one man.. Obama.

Problem is, he’s stocking his war chest. and has been for years. I suspect who ever wins the republican nomination will be out spent 3 to one. Not including all the free press Zero will get.

The Santorums homeschool and Newt and Callista do not have children together to my knowledge. Can you provide some documentation on your claim please?

High negatives for Santo in his old state.

Show them to me. Where is the proof of this. I have this to show the contrary.

Your bud Newton is not that far ahead in his home state of GA.

Gingrich doesn’t have any kids with Callista and santorum’s kids are home schooled. But they do all live in VA.

Selling this poll isn’t truthful. Telling us that Newton isn’t in this race anymore and has no real pathway to the nomination is. Just what type of sorcery do we need to believe to see Newton winning this thing? No one has shown that situation where Rick winning swing states has.

Show yoooou?? It's right there under your nose. Right here in the article:

"Just 13 percent feel strongly that Santorum could beat President Barack Obama in the general election, compared with 45 percent who feel strongly that he cannot, according to a new Morning Call/Muhlenberg College poll of Pennsylvania voters."

To summarize
13% positive v. 45% negative

Big negatives.

You mean the same Pennsylvania that kept voting for the traitor Murtha from 1969 until 2006?

Selling this poll isn’t truthful.

You have no idea of the accuracy. Likely more truthful than your compadre regurgitation old and stale polls that do not reflect the volatility of this election. Only three days left for Santo to stop his nose dive and win Mich and AZ.

It’s the women who vote for Obama that we need to beat . . .

It’s time for men to organize, in private, to turnout the male vote.

“Leave the women at home!”

Oh. Right here in a discredited article. Show me where Muhlenberg/ Morning Call had it right in past contests.

Actually, as of yesterday, Newt is in double figures in a poll over Ricky in GA. A substantial poll that had about 1300 to 1400 voters polled.
