Act of Valor Trumps Hollywood’s Asinine Squalor
Townhall.com ^ | February 26, 2012 | Doug Giles

Finally, a 21st century movie that doesn’t portray our military as corrupt, stupid, confused torturers who murder innocent babies.

Act of Valor, which opened this weekend, features active (and anonymous) Navy SEALs in the re-creation of real events that showcase our crème de la crème rescuing our operatives and crushing our enemies in an OMG type of way.

I’ve got two words for the manner in which our boys were depicted in this flick … Sa-lute!

If I were a wannabe enemy of the U.S.A. (foreign or domestic) I’d be crapping my cargo pants (or tunic) after viewing Act of Valor—chiefly because our special forces are some bad mamajambas who have the tools and the tenacity to jack you up.

Yep, be afraid, villains, as our troops are effective ministers of God poised, ready and willing with stealth and style to inflict the wrath of God on those who do evil. I’m talkin’ Romans 13:1-5 style. Look it up if you don’t know what I’m talking about.

Another thing that I truly enjoyed about this film was the unambiguous patriotism of the soldiers and their families. Yep, no whining about their missions from their families or the SEALs who sacrificed their lives and limbs for God and country. It almost felt like I was in America again as I watched this movie. It was weird—but a good weird.

Even though it’s shocking to see our troops displayed in a magnificent manner within this Occuculture that loathes them, it was not a shocker to me; I have had the good fortune to spend time with many of our special ops and other soldiers in hunting camps from Alaska to Texas and have found them just as the movie displayed them: consummate class acts without a hint of the BS Hollyweird has smeared them with over the last decade.

I can’t say enough good things about this movie. In the theater in which my wife and I watched it we spotted several older gents and couples who sat in their seats and silently wept as the credits rolled. It was sacred.

I’m sure all the scabs and the venomous wood lice of the Left are going to crawl out from under the rocks where they dwell and bash this war pic, but that’s alright. Our SEALs and others have afforded you the right to be stupid and bray your insanity by keeping bad guys at bay, both at home and abroad, and thereby giving you the wherewithal to play your silly and ungrateful games against our fair land.

Lastly, parents, take your teenagers to see Act of Valor. Maybe, just maybe, some of the courage, patriotism and dignity depicted in this film will erase the film this crappy culture has slimed your kid with.

God bless America, our warriors who protect her, and those involved with this movie. Amen.

Being the best of the best is evidently “racist” to the “liberal” crowd if blacks are not proportionately represented in the same percentages as in the general population.

Here's another article which illustrates this same real life 'non-diversity' in a non-military setting. And it clearly isn't racism at work.

The realistic fear of becoming infested with (the once eradicated but now recrudescent) bedbugs is metaphorical for Hollywood in all its squalor and decadence.

If the American people do not come to their senses--and fast!--and reverse the decadence that is destroying America they're going to suffer recrudescences of far worse things than bedbugs!

And they will have only themselves--and their monumental stupidity--to blame.

Experienced the same thing, although it was difficult to tell who else had tears in their eyes through my own blurry ones.

As the list of those SEALS lost since 9-11-01 scrolled up the screen, not a single person moved. Could hear the sniffling pretty well....

For those who've seen the movie:

A Teaching From Tecumseh

I got home last night from the movie, printed it, and hung it on my refrigerator in my kitchen. Life changing.

I am delighted at the film’s performance. I hope it goes on to earn over $50 million in BO. As I said, the second week will tell the story.

And appropriately so. It’s no coincidence that posters on DU and Daily Kommunists are incapable of making comments without use of the F-word.

“The biggest complaint I read about the movie was that the SEALs are portrayed as people without personality flaws”

“Go see the movie and pay very careful attention to “Senior’s” speech about each man in the unit needing to have their life in order (he calls it “balance”), living full lives without regret, so that the team would be in harmony for the mission.

Then try telling me about the biggest complaint being the SEALS don’t have personality flaw’s. These are MEN, living their lives to the FULLEST with their families and their team, knowing their next mission may be their last.

If only the rest of us had the COURAGE to live our lives that way!”

Right on the money, usconservative!

Every Seth Rogan film is the same way. He uses curses so liberally, it’s a complete turn-off. Can’t watch anything with him in it anymore.

Awesome movie! I can concur, when the movie was over, all in the theater sat in quiet..past the list of those who had died. I was good at fighting off tears until I happened to glance at my 15 yr old son..and watched him wipe tears from his eyes. GO SEE IT!

However.

Is it true the main terrorist in the movie is a Jew?

Sure, that shows a real world threat.... not

And The Tomatometer gave Birth of a Nation 100%, so I question the validity of Rotten tomatoes.

Of course the conservatives have been taught only to shriek their howls of disapproval, while the left just sits there and tut tuts so they can pretend to moral superiority. But destroying any lefty is as easy as asking the right questions. EG; “Would you want your children to be more like the SEALs or Seth Rogan?”

I watched the movie yesterday with my family. My wife took it kind of hard because our oldest has just recently deployed to Afghaniland. Even though our son isn’t in the SEALS or any other special forces unit, he is an infantryman and the possibility to be killed is great. I think the narration at the end about living your life to the fullest was inspiring. The other thing I wondered was when the final scene was taking place in Mexico was that is the place our troops need to be, clearing out the murdurous scum there. As for Afghanistan, bomb it to the ground and remove our troops, it aint worth another drop of American blood in my opinion.

The biggest complaint I read about the movie was that the SEALs are portrayed as people without personality flaws (”so we never really get to know who they are”). I don’t know if that’s a fair critique or not. I’ll be going to see the film on Wednesday.

Some people turn their nose up at anything good. They are convinced all of life is evil and anything positive is simply deception.

There is a real need for our art to be better than we are, to inspire us to reach our full potential rather than wallow in the mire of our most selfish desires.

“28% on the Tomatometer”

Seriously, you take their word for anything? When it comes to movies reviews I listen to other conservatives, and I have heard nothing but great things about this movie from those who have seen it.

Given the mindset of most professional movie critics, Act of Valor should take its 28 percent Tomatometer rating as a badge of honor.

I saw the movie. Very glad I did. May go see it again.
