Horrified teenage girl returns to find car has been deliberately crushed by man in monster truck

A teenage girl has been left broken-hearted after her car was crushed by a man in a huge camouflaged truck.

Norman Nowling, 40, from Fort Myers in Florida was arrested on Saturday after witnesses claimed he had deliberately driven over the 1994 Toyota Corolla several times.

The incident occurred at the Redneck Yacht Club during the annual 'Swamp Cabbage Weekend', which sees 4,000 revellers in monster trucks and pickups speed around an 800-acre mud park for fun.

The young woman had heard that a car had been crushed while she was at a mus pit with friends, and alerted security as soon as she returned to find the vehicle was hers. A private security guard reported seeing a large group of spectators gather round the vehicle at around 3am, urging two large trucks to run it over because 'the owner doesn't care'.

The trucks attempted to drive over the vehicle, but failed. A large camouflaged van with five-foot wheels then approached the car, and deliberately smashed into the bonnet from both sides.

Encouraged by the chanting crowd, the driver drove over the entire car several times

A spokesperson for the Redneck Yacht Club said that everyone signs a liability waiver upon entering the mud park, and that the incident was an unfortunate event that occurred on their property.

Liability waiver doesn’t get you out of criminal charges.

The waiver should NOT cover an idiot purposely driving over a teenage girl's car. Nasty chanting crowd, too.

“Broken-hearted” over a ‘94 Corolla? One doesn’t necessarily think of it, getting older as we are, but that’s a 19-year-old Japanese compact car! She’ll get the value of the car plus a substantial bonus to keep her from suing the driver, his insurer, and all the spectators for everything they’ve got, and she can buy a NEW Toyota!

Liability waiver doesn’t get you out of criminal charges.

Nor liability if Mr. Norman Nowling doesn't work for the Redneck Yacht Club.

If you find yourself in a mosh pit at a monster truck rally, you might be a redneck.
If your car has ever been run over by a monster truck while in the parking lot, you might be a redneck.

In this case a diliberate destruction will likely get all the insurance companies going in the right direction for her.

She should end up with a new car out of it. I hope.

My favorite from the report on the YouTube site is the line. "Unconfirmed reports suggest that alcohol may have been involved." Wow you think?

It seems probable. The organizers of this event don’t want a hugh settlement shutting it down.

I doubt the liability waiver will hold up. Membership doesn’t really impact criminal charges either. I bet she’s gonna have a shiny new car before this is over.

Nor can it apply to intentional acts, like this one.
