Read the entire article at the url; this is an excerpt. But, I'll say again, if we don't have Rubio on the ticket to get a big chunk of the Hispanic vote away from the Dems AND to help carry Florida, we need to get ready to be saying "President Obama" for four more years. It used to be Ohio (which is still one of the top 3 players), but now, the conventional wisdom says: Whoever wins Florida, wins the White House.

I would rather see Allen West than Rubio for VP, especially since Rubio’s beat down on Newt.

Read the comments and you will see how the article was clearly lacking and wrong. So do we do like liberals and give up on the Constitution for political expediency? Methinks not.

I will say it again —

In the official copies of the THIRD U.S. Congress (1795) margin notes state “Former act repealed. 1790. ch. 3.” referencing the FIRST U.S. Congress (1790).

The actual text of the THIRD CONGRESS in 1795 states, “...children of citizens [plural = both parents] of the United States...shall be considered citizens of the United States; Provided That the right of citizenship shall not descend to persons, whose fathers have never been resident in the United States...” (THIRD CONGRESS Session II. Ch.21. 1795, Approved January 29, 1795, pp. 414-415. Document margin note: “How children shall obtain citizenship through their parents” Document margin note: “Former Act repealed 1790 ch.3.”)

The 1790 act was repealed and replaced by the 1795 act!

NOTE- the 1795 act states
1. children of citizenS of USA shall be considered US citizens.
2. right of citizenship shall NOT descend to persons, whose fathers have never been resident in the United States...!

obozo’s father was neither a USA citizen nor a resident in USA! (he was only a student)

Rubio’s father and mother were NOT citizens of USA at time of his birth!

So
if obozo was really born in USA he can be a US citizen by virtue of his birth place, but he is NOT a nbc!

Rubio was born in USA so he is a USA citizen but he is NOT a nbc and NOT constitutionally elig to be the president of USA!

nbc = born in USA to 2 USA parentS!

So even before I read the article, YOU must be endorsing that Barry Soetoro, Soebakah, the illegal undocumented alien and usurper is a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN, in a faked and unConstitutional election, right???

Do you have to be born within the territorial limits of the United States to be such a citizen?  No, said the Founders.  The Heritage Foundation's Guide shows how the First Congress in 1790 provided that "the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond the sea or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born."

And that right there is where the title of the article fails.  The parents must be citizens, of the United State, in order to have the power to confer citizenry as they would or are under the jurisdiction of the United States with not ties or allegiance to another country.

I don't know anything about Nicki's parent's as I don't recall her name being bandied about for Veep, much less President.  Won't happen anyway.

As for Jindal, no way that is going to happen and it's to bad.  Terrific man, a true American and a great governor.  But, his parents were not even naturalized before his birth.  They were still citizens of India at the time, so Bobby's citizenship is not Natural Born.  His parents did eventually become citizens of the United States but Bobby is ineligible.

As for Rubio, I wish he was eligible.  One of the greatest voices of America and the Republican party.  Still, if his parents citizenship, at the time of his birth, is in doubt then there is no way anyone will support him.

We don't have to resort to cheating to win and sometimes we just takes whats we gots and work with it.

Doesn't matter if Rubio's parents were His parents were resident aliens when he was born in 1971.

That is wholly not a citizenship issue and could be used to describe any type of reason for being here LAWFULLY and residing within the United States border under our laws.  That is they were residing here under asylum rules and laws but, they were absolutely not citizens and could in time of war be called up for conscription by their country of citizenship, Cuba, and fight in that war or be prosecuted for failure to submit to conscrption.

Additionally, under international law recognized by both Cuba and the United States, the Rubio's could exert their citizenry and repatriate to Cuba at any time, taking Marco with them.

Marco's parents did not become citizens until after his birth and this isn't a "close enough" issue.  That still only applies to hand grenades and horseshoes

BTW, I don’t know who this writer is and I wonder why American Thinker would allow this contrived, synthetic, drivel to be published but his intent is to despoil the field by outright deception.

This article's definition of "natural born citizen" is the one I find most compelling. His parents were in the U.S. legally and seeking to become naturalized citizens. That his parents had fled Fidel Castro also demonstrates that they owed no allegiance to a foreign power.

I understand that there have been Supreme Court decisions that complicate this; it will be interesting to see how it all works out.

If Rubio, Haley or Jindal ever gets nominated, and I hope all of them will be sooner or later, watch the mainstream media go into a frenzy about their eligibility. They have no shame.

Regardless of voting for Marco Rubio, we are a “few” who DON’T care what conventional wisdom says. We care about WHAT the Consttitution says. Period!!!

Chet Arthur needs to educate himself a little more on the Natural Born Citizen issue. Neither Rubio nor Jindal pass the eligibility test from the last SCOTUS decision.

If they try to put Rubion on the GOP ticket for 2012 the lawsuits will start up immediately. We don’t need that grief going on in 2012. Allen West is a NBC and just as good if not better VP material than Marco Rubio.

They all say they’re not interested. They don’t want to appear “power hungry”. Christie says he’s not interested as does Paul Ryan, Bobby Jindal, etc., etc.... I’ve never known one person to say: “Hey, I wanna be Vice President; pick me, pick me.”

if we don't have Rubio on the ticket

What are Marco Rubio's qualifications for high national office?

What experience has he had with either command or executive responsibility?

To: no dems; All

I have been on this website for a decade and I have NEVER seen so friggin’ many haters in all my life. If someone came on here and said I think Jesus Christ would be a good President or a good VP, most people on here would tear Him down and excoriate me because He would not be a good enough Conservatives in their book. Go ahead, all you haters. Bite your nose off to spite your ugly face. But, in the mean time, practice getting ready to say “President Obama” for the next four years.
