“The frustrating thing is the GOP party officials are never able to play this game.”

That is exactly what I have referred to many times as a lack of GOP “party discipline”. I’ve had a couple dullards on FR accuse me of wanting the GOP run like the Mafia.

This is a war we’re in here. If running things like the Mafia ensures a victory, THAN YOU DO IT. You either adjust to how a war is fought or you die and lose. Simple as that.

Just wow. Are there ANY young people left in Nebraska with guts enough to make their move?

I really hope Nebraska Republicans spend a lot of money reminding voters that when Kerrey left the Senate, he also left the state!

I doubt Kerrey has been back much at all since he bailed out for the East Coast.

Actually, the GOP Establishment acts like the mafia... but they consistently run losers.

Gee, I thought he just said he wouldn’t run. I guess changing his mind now rather than later might give him a leg up?

>> How does he even meet residency requirements ? He high-tailed it out of the state in NE in 2001 to go run a Stalinist “College” in NYC. <<

He doesn't but I'm sure the RATs will find a loophole around that (probably by using a liberal federal judge or something) Lautencorpse didn't meet the deadline to get on the ballot in NJ...but they found a way around that. And my favorite was when Mrs. Carnahan was appointed Senator by the RATs after Missouri re-elected her dead husband. Rules don't apply to RAT Senate candidates, it seems.

You think so (acting like the Mafia)? I see them as cowards - look at how they act when they have the power (GWB + House + Senate), they're afraid to do anything with it.

Running losers? For sure. Like the dildo ex-governor of the People's Republic I live in.

Always noticed that similarity between Kerrey's head shape and Reddy Kilowatt.

I always thought of Kerrey as The Human Light Bulb with that head of his.

Hmmm...... I guess that means he’d be banned. Oh wait, I forgot, that’s only for high wattage light bulbs. He’s a dim bulb if there ever was one.

When the Dems rammed through the `assault weapons’ ban in 1994, Kerrey made a stupid TV ad where he holds up a Ruger Red Label O/U shotgun and says the ban wouldn’t affect “beautiful guns like this”. He then held up a Kalashnikov lookalike and said “ugly guns” like that were the objects of the ban.

Idiot. He looks like Jerry Moonbeam Brown after a tornado.

I almost didn't recongize Bob Kerrey in his recent photos. He definitely hasn't aged well. He looks completely different than when was a Senate a decade ago:

Compare that to Joe Lieberman in 1988. Droopy Dog always looks the same:

Their power tends to lend itself to protecting their own interests within the party itself, regardless if it shrivels. Look at MA with the Socialist coterie protecting their stranglehold on a dead state GOP. As for being cowards, how else would one describe thugs or the mafia ? They can’t achieve wins and power by fair means, so they resort to other measures. Losers, cowards, thugs, mafia... all words that apply to the GOP establishment (and their Democrat counterparts).

This reminds me of when former Senator John Breaux was hyped to come back to Louisiana to run for governor. Turned out he spent too much time in D.C. and may not have been eligible. Kerrey at least doesn’t seem to have a legal problem in running, but how he withstands his “I love NY” post-Senate career being splashed on NE airwaves, I don’t know.

Great. A comeback from one of the schiessekofts who co-chaired the 9/11 commission.

Nebraska is one of the most Republican states in the union. Kerrey had a blue state persona that will never play in a deep red state like Nebraska. Sure at one time it did, but the nation is much more divided now and Republicans far less willing to trust, and thus vote for, Democratic politicians. Obama will lose Nebraska in a landslide—and take Bobby Boy down with him.

As to the why Kerrey reversed himself? Simple. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee went into panic mode this week seeing the horrible polling for Dem candidates in Dem seats in Wisconsin and Montana and no doubt went to Kerry on their knees, hat in hand to get him to run. Reid probably put in a teary-eyed appearance on the conference call too no doubt.

Kerrey’s going exactly nowhere. Nebraskans aren’t going to bring this corpse back. Stick a fork in him.
