An increasing portion of students in the United Kingdom looking for a way to pay for their tuition are turning to prostitution, according to a new paper by a British medical student.
The problem may be particularly acute among medical students, who generally go to school longer, accrue more debt and have less time for paid employment, according to the paper by Jodi Dixon, who is studying at the University of Birmingham.
Dixon pointed to a study of about 300 British university students, in which 10 percent reported knowing a student who had worked as a prostitute or escort in 2010. That's up from about 6 percent in 2006, and 4 percent in 2000, Dixon said, a rise that coincided with an increase in college tuition fees.
"With escalating debts, students in the United Kingdom may view prostitution as an easy way to get rich quick," Dixon wrote in her article, published today (Feb. 28) in journal Student BMJ.

So, 30 people said they knew one such student. That could translate in to one such student for the entire sample. This isn’t science, this is yellow journalism.
At least they’ll learn to treat their own venereal diseases.

What an utterly appalling sate of affairs that a supposed First World country, Great Britain for God sake, would be so squalid that a woman studying to a doctor would have to resort to this. These people are done for.

Oh, not those blasted “report knowing” statistics! Utterly meaningless tripe. One notorious student hooker at a med school could account for 10%, 20%,. . . “knowing” as student who had turned to prostitution.
The feminists love that form of meaningless questionaire as it creates a false impression of the prevalence of rare things they can use to push their agenda.
I never dated a girl who went to college that I liked. My favorite girlfriends were all just high school graduates or college dropouts (one such I realize now I should have married, but foolishly didn’t; what a nice girl she was! No issues, no agendas. I was the man and the leader, and that made her happy. Doesn’t get any better).
My advice to young men today is if you can afford not to have your wife work, then stay away from college girls.
