Teen Set on Fire in Racial Attack; Media Silent

“This is what you deserve. You get what you deserve, white boy.” So spewed the attackers of Melissa Coon’s 13-year-old son, as they doused him with gasoline and set him alight.

Police, they say, are “investigating” whether this is a hate crime.

Yes, and I’m investigating whether the media is biased and if hate-crime law is applied equally. I’ll get back to you on that — in about two paragraphs.

The attack on the boy took place on the east side of Kansas City, Missouri. Fox 4 Kansas City provides some (sanitized) details, writing, “The victim is a student at East High School and regularly walks home after class. When he reached his porch, two older teens grabbed him, pinned his arms behind his back and then poured gas from a gas can on the boy. They then set the boy on fire.”

Thankfully, the teen victim had the presence of mind to pull his shirt up over his head and snuff out the flames. He was treated at Children’s Mercy hospital, having suffered first-degree burns to his face and head. And police said they were concerned about possible damage to his eyes and lungs.

The concern, however, isn’t translating into national media coverage — or honest coverage anywhere.

But...this boy was remarkably unharmed after having gasoline “poured” on him and set afire. 1st degree burns? A few hours at the burn center? Compare that man in NC who died after splashing gasoline on himself and lighting a cigarette. He was so badly burnt I’d look at murder; this boy got off so lightly I’d look at a hoax.

I don’t care if it’s a hate crime or not (just as I don’t care when the victim is black, Hispanic, or gay). This is attempted murder, and the thugs should be sentenced as adults to life without parole. With the correct punishment for a vicious and evil crime, why would it matter if there was a lesser charge included in the charging documents?

Actually it is only white gentile people who can commit hate crimes, while all other religions, ethnicity, and races are fully eligible for victim hood. It is a double standard, and if you complain, you can become the bigot if you accept it. Many double standards have come to exist in the USA that are not only blatantly racist, such as enrollment at Harvard but are getting worse.

As much as the picture depicts most conservatives’ sentiments here, the thought of illustrating the righteous angst experienced (justly) at this farce of “hate crime” questioning just doesn’t sit well with me by using this sick-puke liberal as a coalescing icon. He is the very last person I’d prop up as an example. His goal in making this movie wasn’t anything near connected to conservatism.
