Gasoline for $5 a gallon? The possibility is hardly far-fetched.
With no clear end to tensions with Iran and Syria and rising demand from countries like China, gas prices are already at record highs for the winter months averaging $4.32 in California and $3.73 a gallon nationally on Wednesday, according to AAAs Daily Fuel Gauge Report. As summer approaches, demand for gasoline rises, typically pushing prices up around 20 cents a gallon.
And gas prices could rise another 50 cents a gallon or more, analysts say, if the diplomatic and economic standoff over Irans nuclear ambitions escalates into military conflict or there is some other major supply disruption.

Too late. filled up today @ $4.57.
The MSNBC comments say it all “alan_static: make it $10 gas. I will happily pay it along with my fellow Americans. Maybe we will see there is a better alternative to this driving culture when we all start driving less, walking more, and build some people friendly cities.”
“wtw of KC
There is no doubt we do live in a lucky country. At $3.73- 4.32 / gallon we should be laughing compared to the rest of the world. In Europe they pay almost 3 times more per gallon than us, in Australia around $5.60 and in China $4.10. Europe has learned to live with high gasoline prices and their vehicle fuel consumption reflects it and puts ours to shame. As for Chinese prices, they can afford to keep them lower, we subsidize them with the interest payments on our $ trillion+ debt to them.”
If the liberals want to compare European cities to U.S. cities they should also compare the age and size of those cities.
Mark Levin is just talking about how bambi is closing all the coal plants-—because of new regulations they are closing all over the nation.........Bambi is really trying to destroy our economy.....if we don’t do something there will be a collapse.
If 0bama were the leader of any country that is America’s foe, he would be lauded as the one who was able to destroy America properly.
..three years ago he said he wanted it.......
Europe has a very condensed population.
Didn’t Obummer once say that energy costs would necessarily increase if he got his way?
Yea. Wait 'til they're paying $20/pound for their tofu.
His goal was $7.00
Reduce the value of gasoline by the 12% reduction in fuel milage caused by requiring ethanol, and we are getting closer.
Got to keep the corn prices up!
obama’s worshippers will never believe he’s doing anything to intentionally hurt this country. And that’s almost half of the country.
We are watching the destruction of the greatest nation in the history of mankind.
Just talked to one today. She can’t figure him out. Nothing is his fault, of course.
A summer of a $75 to $100 filled tanks will even wear down the most liberal Democrat.
Think Reagan like voting percentages.
Ventura or downtown LA?
Mine was San Jose.
It cost me $92.13 to fill my Tahoe today.
Next time when one fills up, we should all stick a picture of a grinning Obama to the pump. Pass it on!!
I think the rage will set in once people start to get the idea this is not a temporary spike. Right now they think it is something they might have to endure for two or three months.
Only difference is in Europe, you can drive through entire countries on a tank of gas. Here in America, it wouldn’t even get you halfway across Texas.
If liberals want us to be like Europe they better keep in mind that they kill each off every 30 or 40 years in those things called wars.
Paid $4.64 a gallon for Shell Premium in Ridgecrest CA today.
If gasoline stays where it is or goes higher, George Washington couldn’t get re-elected, much less Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. and his “lovely” wife. Unless we get McCain 2.0 as the nominee. Where are they vacationing this week, by the way? The Riviera? Bermuda? Napa Valley? The Hamptons? Vail?
