Sandra Fluke What's her background?

Posted on 03/02/2012 11:14:49 AM PST by airedale

There has been 0 reporting on the background of Sandra Fluke. What's her background? Who are her parents? What do they do? Georgetown is about $70k for tuition per year without scholarship + room and board, books etc. Even with a scholarship it's still a ton of $$$. Is she financing her law school or are her parents or her trust fund paying for it? Droms are about $20k per year so where she living? At home?

The only pictures I've seen of her from the hearings where she's wearing a suit. What's she normally wear? Inexpensive clothing or pricy duds?

Is she really financially so strapped she can't afford birth control or is that a lie?

Sleep Train is not a major sponsor. Pro Flowers sends nasty overpriced flowers.

No big loss.

All I can think of is that old Rush clip

@Fluke testimonyA friend of mine, for example, has polycystic ovarian syndrome and has to take prescription birth control to stop cysts from growing on her ovaries. Her prescription is technically covered by Georgetown insurance because it’s not intended to prevent pregnancy.
Is her "friend" her lesbian lover?

Sandra Fluke on Limbaugh: I was stunned, then outraged

Fluke explained that her friend, a lesbian, could not afford the oral contraception she needed to prevent ovarian cysts from forming because her university refused to pay for them on religious grounds.

@Limbaugh Calls Student Denied Spot At Contraception Hearing A ‘Slut’

While it’s probably not even worth engaging with Limbaugh on the facts, Fluke’s testimony was about a friend who is a lesbian and needed birth control for non-sexual medical reasons, so he’s only wrong about three times over, and offensive many more times over than that.

Just sourcing so don't complain about where it came from.

I wondered if she was launching a political career and using Rush’s comment (or, for that matter, any conservative’s comments on her lifestyle) as a publicity springboard.

Her ‘indignation’ is a ruse. As a 30-year old woman who should be financially responsible for herself at this time in her life, I’m sure she is completely aware that literal handfuls of free contraception are readily available at community free clinics as well as at “over 800 offices” of Planned Parenthood. Yet she insists that her college, which she should have been long graduated from, provide contraceptive means on a silver platter, instead of having to take a bus ride for a freebie? Is this the ‘new’ way to launch a political career or what? Will she be insisting the college provide her a husband next?

If she is so smart, and simply loves to love, there is a very easy remedy for her plight.

She can just have a donation jar by the bedside, for -ahem- contraception costs and the like.

Nothing fancy or spendy you understand, just for the covering of ongoing costs and such.

If she is so thin -skinned that she gets butt-hurt by a humorous remark made by an entertainer, then she is going to be a total failure at the Law game...
