Skip to comments. How to defuse the Fluke Issue: a suggestion
Posted on 03/03/2012 12:40:31 PM PST by Salgak
Several of my friends have been discussing the Fluke issue, and the larger issue of the entire Mandate. It's flamingly obvious that this is to get the discussion away from the economy in general, and gas prices in particular.
And THEN a friend had the idea: USE it to turn the talk back to the Economy:
How bad is the economy when a young woman cant even afford the price of a condom?
This poor young woman cant afford to pay for her own birth control. Four years ago, she could have. . . .
Any better ideas ??
How to defuse it is to announce that we have been had
SHE IS A 30 YEAR OLD IRRESPONSIBLE ADULT ACTIVIST
I like it. The problem isn’t that it is so hard to craft a winning message/response, the problem is getting our people to focus and stay on that message. To be fair, they do have to put up with an entire MSM/entertainment establishment trying to trip them up - and because we are in a primary season our own people are trying to trip one another up as well.
But yeah, I like your counter message, “before Obama, women used to be able to afford their own contraception without government help”.
How to diffuse it is to simply say....if this is your biggest worry then you are beyond help.....
Then we can ask her the questions that will destroy Obama.
Why in the hell do you want to defuse the demorats getting caught at fraudulent behavior?
Why defuse this? It’s killing the Democrats and the radical left. That’s why they are screaming bloody murder. Keep it going! We’ve turned the tables on them. Keep the story alive for weeks if possible. Go, Rush, Go!
The way to defuse it is to dismiss it as a phony issue intended to distract from Obama’s attack on the civil right of freedom of religion.
There is nothing to DEFUSE from our side. The RATs tried to light up a victory-winning cigar and it EXPLODED nationally right before their lame-ass sorry eyes, so much so, that they had to THROW whatever is left of the ‘prestige’ of the PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES with a full frontal PHOTO of him calling this contraceptive-addicted 30 yr old ‘student’ to offer her his ‘support’. He should’ve just as easily sent her some free condoms.
Why dismiss it? This is major democrat overreaching..
you are correct. Bill Clinton as President got into with Rush and paid dearly for it. Obama was a fool for getting involved in this matter.
I don’t see this as a losing situation. Let them bring the battle to Rush.
Remember how he handled Harry Reid?
I sorry she’s suffering. I suggest she take a couple aspirin...
I’m merely suggesting how we can USE the Fluke issue to turn the discourse back to the economy. . . . We’re ALREADY fighting on the Relgious Freedom front. . .I’m just saying we take the fight BACK to the enemy. . .
What we should be asking is how it was fine to attack Sarah Palin with such vile statements, but now be outraged when Limbaugh says a bad word toward one of their own.
THIS is what the Obama administration is working on? Is THIS the most pressing issue of the day? Hell no it is not pressing -- in fact -- access to BC pills and condoms is not even a problem!
We are being used by the media, people! Wake up!
and it is protected by FUSES!
Defuse it? defuse what? The slut’s a slut. maybe she should stop being a slut!
They’re using this to energize women by casting conservatives as women-haters. They figure that this scandal will take attention away from high gas prices, inflation, and high unemployment.
Rush should offer free advertising to SleepTrain’s competitor, and hit that $hit like dub-step, just repeating it and repeating the message, “buy SleepTrain’s competitor...”
And he should keep the focus on hiiiiiiiigh gas prices, etc.
“I’m not asking her to pay for my car so why is she asking me to pay for her birth control pills?”
“Well, I’ll let other people argue over whether ‘slut’ is the proper term for a sexually promiscuous woman. I just feel sorry for someone who’s 30 years old, has already gotten one degree, and still can’t afford to buy birth control”
“When Sarah was called a c*nt and they made fun of her retarded child THAT WAS FINE, but if an entertainer remarks about the nocturnal habits of a slattern, well then that is a HANGING CRIME...”
The double-standard is HUUUUGE.
It’s the truth, so I’m sure that it won’t catch on in the MSM.
Still, nothing is won via defense, so I think he should just keep focusing on inflation, unemployment, and high gas-prices in particular.
I have a different idea. Where are the conservative reporters going to Georgetown to find out about all the sex that is happening? Let’s get these coed’s on tape telling us how they are suffering due to the high cost of sex.
So I have to pay for her Fluke-ing around?
There is nothing to defuse.
Two things are happening here
Leftist are using this to distract about the economy.
Leftists are using this to vilify conservatives.
Limbaugh said that he thought women would not want to be infantalized by government nannies and that HE thought that they were bright enough and responsible enough to take care of their own birthcontrol issues.
Interesting how the left is staying on message, birthcontrol and womens health, to alienate women from conservatives, following the media lies about Santorum.
This is their wedge issue and conservatives had better take it back strongly. We see women and strong and able to make desisions and take responsibility for our bodies.
REMEMBER, IT IS OUR BODIES, OURSELVES, leftists, not OUR BODIES, OUR GOVERNMENT.
To connect her plight to the economy, why not say..”GIVEN THE RISING PRICE OF GASOLINE, SHE CAN’T GO TO THE DRUG STORE TO PICK UP HER BIRTH CONTROL PILLS NOR GO RIDING AROUND PICKING UP STRANGE MEN AND HAVING SEX IN THE BACK SEAT OF HER CAR.” Does that work?
A Statement from Rush
March 03, 2012
For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week. In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke.
I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress. I personally do not agree that American citizens should pay for these social activities. What happened to personal responsibility and accountability? Where do we draw the line? If this is accepted as the norm, what will follow? Will we be debating if taxpayers should pay for new sneakers for all students that are interested in running to keep fit? In my monologue, I posited that it is not our business whatsoever to know what is going on in anyone’s bedroom nor do I think it is a topic that should reach a Presidential level.
My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.
Is it true her name rhymes with “luck” and not “Luke”?
Abstinance is free...
Yes, it sound as though the economy has gotten her down and she is trolling for the position of “courtesan” or “kept woman”. Perhaps she should look for a job as a governess somewhere in order to keep her reputation intact. Oh, I guess it’s too late for that! (I’ve been reading way to many historical romances lately.)
“How bad is the economy when a young woman cant even afford the price of a condom?”
That’s not bad, actually. First, the debate has to do with, primarily, the unconstitionality of Obamacare and, secondarily, the unconstitutionality of this particular mandate (violation of the 1st Amendment).
The Democrats have concocted a ridiculous assertion to change the dynamic of the conversation because they know they can’t win the debate on the actual topic. “How bad is the economy when a young woman cant even afford the price of a condom?” is just as ridiculous an assertion and is completely unanswerable from Democrats who are back to defending the economy, which they wanted to divet attention from in the fist place.
I like it.
That's actually pretty good.
Defuse the issue MY ASS!!! These low down rotten bastids want a fight and we had better be ready to give it to them. These cultural marxists are utterly dishonest, corrupt, destructive and care nothing for the truth. To evade a fight with these contemptible parasites is to fail in our duty to God and the self evident truths ot the Declaration.
. . .which is why I’m suggesting we turn it right back at them.
Think of it as political ju-jitsu: they made it an issue, we use it to counter-attack them. . .
Better ideas? Yes, several but the most basic: If this person is going to engage in immorality then then she can pay her own way.
PHluck if I know but, I do know her charade wasn’t some Fluke chance.
The only problem is finding a Republican with the balls to say, “If she needs $1,000/year in taxpayer money for birth control, and condoms are available at 3/dollar on Amazon, then she is having sex 3,000 times a year. She needs to get off her back and get a job!”
Actually, all we need is for a GOP-E type to ask, “Why should I pay for her to have sex, if she isn’t having it with me?”
How about, “Keep your vagina out of my pocket! Pay for your own contraceptives!”
Not a better idea but food for thought. Promote a campaign to have millions send her a bottle of aspirin!!!
Yes, exactly. The right needs to stop allowing this to be called a “women’s health issue” - it is not, it is about federal government controlling and mandating what private business cover - it is none of the federal governments concern.
Rush has apologized. Western Civilization has collapsed.
Lock & load, wait for the barbarians to storm the gates, and enjoy the final luxury of dying standing up, weapon in hand.
I’m not kidding.
Yeah how about calling her what she is, a left wing activist gimmee girl who wants to mooch off people making 40K per year while she’s attending a law school that costs at least that much.
Ask how she was able to get that testimony all set up and on tv.
Ask why she was so interested in Georgetown Law in particular, since she is actually interning....in California, isn’t it?
Watch her clothes/appearances. And how much time she is taking from her ‘internship.’ Where is that ‘internship’? With which ;aw firm? What practices does it have?
LOL...the economy is so bad young law students have to turn to hooking to pay for their birth control!
Maybe we should have “send a condom to Fluke” day.
Rush can apologize all he wants. It doesn’t change the fact that everything he said is true. Truth hurts sometimes. The girl is a pimp (pimping to get all the rest of us to pay for her and others to have the ‘freedom’ to have ‘protected’ sex), and she is a ...(female who can’t afford to have sex unless WE PAY for it)!
