NEW YORK (AP) - A flower company is the 7th advertiser in recent days to say it is pulling ads from conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh's radio program. ProFlowers says on its Facebook page that it has suspended advertising on Limbaugh's program because his comments about Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke "went beyond political discourse to a personal attack and do not reflect our values as a company."

I listen to Rush daily for ages, but have never once used any of his advertisers. I was upset by Rush had said for a whole host of reasons, but behaving like the left was at the top of the list. However, he is human, has 1st amendment rights and I don’t have to agree with 100% of what he says! I think I’ll just drop a note to these advertisers and let them know how I feel.

Thanks. I missed it. Let’s show them how this game is played. I’m pissed at him for the apology but he’s ours and we have to defend him.

It will not affect his show!!! there is no way, I stared listening back in 2000 while the big debate about pregnant chads and so on in Florida, it took me a while to get used to it because I did not know who was who in the political scene but as soon I knew who was dingy Harry, the dancing queen una paloma blanca and so on, I just got ADDICTED to it. It is like watching an endless movie.

I began listening to Rush in 1990.

I recently bought from ProFlowers but was dismayed to see that their quality has eroded, big-time. I won't buy from them anymore. Their decision to suspend their ads on the Rush Limbaugh talk show will hurt them (financially) far more than Limbaugh - but that is their choice, just as it is my choice to purchase from another florist (probably locally). See ya!

This is NOT a first amendment issue.

The government isn't restricting Rush's free speech.

Advertisers not spending their money on your show is the free market at work.

Rush made a mess, but he'll recover from it.

“All for nothing, leftists. What Rush is selling is wanted by too many people, there’ll be other advertisers.”

Exactly. Whereas I think he shouldn't have used that language and thus given the left a bullet to shoot, this will blow over.

Sure is separating the hard core left AH that didn't mind using Rush huge audience but when their king, King Obama, got his ass in the fray, they buckled. Rush doesn’t need then anyway and good honest conservative advertisers would be more welcome.

Stalinists lie without conscience.

Identity Politics only matter to The Party when you serve The Party. If you oppose them, all stops are off and they will use the very words they have deemed hateful.

NOW called Meg Whitman a slut and defended Bill Clinton saying the first grope is free.

Criticism of Barack Obama is always called "racist" yet LA Weekly ran this illustration for a news piece and it was "not" racist.

There can be no debating liberals because there is no honesty in their outrage or positions.

I’ve listened to Rush since 1994.

I didn’t particularly care for the “slut” name calling. But, hey it’s a leftist tactic and I really didn’t pay that much attention to it. And I also know Rush demonstrates absurdity by being absurd. So I left it at that.

What does bother me is the selective outrage. Do any of you reading this thread remember in 2009 when David Letterman made his abhorrent joke about then 14 year old, Willow Palin. The Palin’s were in New York and Letterman in his monologue commented on the daughter getting “Knocked Up” by Alex Rodriquez.

Tear that apart and Letterman was suggesting statutory rape.

Rush calls a woman a slut and loses 7 advertisers in less than a week. David Letterman uses a 14 year old girl in an abhorrent joke about statutory rape. Which is worse?

Where was the outrage from the left for Willow Palin? Did NOW come to her aid? Did leftists form campaigns to get Letterman off the air?

No of course not.

I’m tired of the selective outrage. I’m tired of the left controling the debate. I intend to vote, and I’ll do so with my money—that and my free speech is the only power I have.

I’ve contacted Pro Flowers and Sleep Number Beds. I’ll also contact Carbonite. Can someone else reading this thread provide the other advertisers who have stopped advertising on Limbaugh’s show? It may not do any good, but I sure feel better about my stance in this current climate of hate. Thank you.

I hope new advertising companies will want to get on the air and take up the space these LOSERs have opened up by their liberal bias...You don’t need them if they want to restrict your freedom of the press, Rush! I’ve been a listener since the early 90s and my kids were both raised Rush babies!

I TRIED CALLING CARBONITE..........HA! HA!

877-665-4466

On their connection to “try our new services”..it’s just busy, can’t get through!Looks like the calls are already blocking their lines! hee..hee.

Pugmama on the Sunday morning talk thread posted as follows:

“...Had to wait 30 minutes on hold to cancel Carbonite service. Lady at the other end sounded very tired and said ‘ you too huh?’.
Hope every Rush listener does the same.”

Those are all national sponsors, none of whom I'd purchase anything from anyway. They're the guys who pay the big bucks to get their product name in front of the millions of Rush fans. There is an exception, ProFlowers. I might have used them this past valentines day to send some flowers to my ex-girlfriend but I decided she wasn't worth it.

ProFlowers is making a very big mistake and I suspect they'll rethink their boneheaded mistake after mothers day shows them with a major decline in sales from previous years.......

My major concern for Rush is the local broadcasters but there isn't really anyone they can put into Rush's timeslot that generates the listenership that he does.........

Here in S.E. Michigan, Rush was dropped from 1200 a.m. due to their format change but he was picked up by WJR before the paperwork could even hit the floor.

I started listening to Rush in the late 80’s and have admired him from the start.

A few weeks ago, on “Bloody Thursday”, I quit. I will listen to his show tomorrow, but that should be the end of it.

Having said all of that, I find it chicken sh!t as heck for these cowardice sponsors to drop him over this slut rubbish.

Who are the sponsors that dumped Rush? We’d be well versed to e-mail them and tell them to stuff their products. That’s what Rush gets for telling the truth in this day and age.

Rush is usually right but I don’t listen to him that often any more.

I don’t want to be reminded every time that this country is going to hell in a handbasket.
