Presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich on Friday called on Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta to resign, rebuking him for telling a congressional panel that the U.S. would “seek international permission” before intervening in the ongoing bloodshed in Syria.
“I have been told that the secretary of defense has suggested that international agreements override the Congress,” Gingrich told supporters in Gulfport, Mississippi. “If he believes that, he should resign tonight.”
Responding to a statement that the U.S. was placing military resolutions of the United Nations, NATO and the Arab League ahead of those made by Congress, Panetta told the Senate Armed Services Committee on Wednesday: "You know, our goal would be to seek international permission.

The sadder thing is that Congress will be ok with this.

This is a totally planned takeover of the US from the alien status of the creepinchief, to the plant of fluke, to the submission of hussein and company to the third world order of the UN. How can this country be so blind?
While Newt is at it...he should demand Holders resignation too....

Newt conveniently forgets/ignores and you conveniently forget/ignore that George Bush had to get permission from the UN before invading Iraq. You have conveniently forgotten that SoS Powell had to grovel before the UN General Assembly to get the UN Mandate.
Then because Bush and the NeoCons had major problem in Iraq the US had to ask the UN to extend the Mandate TWICE.
And eventually, the UN said no more extensions and Bush was forced get permission from Iraq to stay longer, which was the Status of Forces Agreement that Bush negotiated with Iraq and signed.

IT’s not just World dictatorship, which will happen as things go chaotic, but Zero is making sure America is not even in the running for asserting any voice at all.
The Panetta precedent Congress lets fly is going to let the UN declare war on the US and the congress will stay mum when Obama joins the US government with the UN forces.
This is the RINO stupidity, democrate retardation and Obama “leadership” by proxy in action.
OH, and, IRONY, we are reducing our nukes to less than that China with the Soviets right behind rearming...

Okay. Pick up your guns. Go shoot someone. Get tossed in jail and then drugged to death. DO YOU REALLY think people are going to turn to armed rebellion?? Won’t happen. Way too many people have their lives tied up in a job, government money, government hand outs. We have an internal civil war and it will be total destruction. Millions of deaths because there will be nothing to support people. It will never happen. This ain’t 1862 any more. If you think you can change it with a gun, you are badly wrong. I am a gun owner. Had them for 50 years. But, I don’t think saying we will take up arms and rebel against the government is going to accomplish anything. It will never happen. On top of that, as soon as we start killing each other, our outside enemies will join in the killing fest to quicker bring the nation down.
The process has been hijacked by bad lawyers. Technical people have access to parts of the weapon, but those putting the weapon together and wielding it are usualy the retards in power these days, ultimately.
It’s a matter of being a friend of a system, and until people do not trust each other as friends of it, they won’t get together to get the very few communists who are in charge and have hijacked the media morale giving Goebelian “sergeants” manipulators of liberals and the courts of opinion.
That is notwithstanding the mess of being so liberal that we do not see things like Islam actualy preventing CAtholics from having institutions of sanctity of virginity of men, women and children, genuinely protected to serve purposes higher than the lower perversions. This shame irks liberals.
What we need is a new “lebens-raum” discussion, not one about actual territories, but one based in genuine uncorrupted intelligence and undebauched spirituality of life in service. That sort of “mental space” and vision is shrinking rapidly in the US and the economy is going to tank world wide as a result.
Manning the stations against the barbarians here and about can come about if the right saving language can be applied and cause an organization.

Don’t try to go off all tough guy on me, pal. Many of us have spilled our blood for this country, and we may have to once again. But, whether we have or not, We the People have the right to speak up for our beliefs, and for our country.
This is why I like Newt. He is the only candidate who will say things like this.
