Russian military aircraft will take part in the exercises of U.S. Air Force Flag-2012 in 2012. This was announced by the Russian Air Force spokesman Col. Vladimir Drik.
"In 2012, governments, military units in the Air Force for working out issues of governance and cooperation in carrying out joint tasks will take part in several international exercises" - Drik said.
"In the framework of the Collective Security Treaty and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, in particular, will exercise" Peace Mission 2012 "and" Interaction 2012 ", - he said.
"Within the framework of bilateral agreements reached in August, the Russian Air Force will take part in joint Russian-Indian exercise" Indra 2012 "in October - in the operational-tactical exercises" Clear Skies "in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as in the teachings of the U.S. Air Force Flag-2012 ".
Who wants to bet that Chinese units will also take part? I think so.
Some claim that was on purpose so that we can justify getting more f22 funding.
I honestly burst out laughing! There’s a lot of stuff happening lately that would have been considered ludicrous a decade ago. I am sure the next step will be naval exercises with the Chinese.
Not certain how that would work.
If the F-22 wins, Obama says ‘we don’t need any more’; and if the F-22 loses, he says ‘why build more of an inferior design?’
It wasn’t the f22 they were beating. It was the f16.
Do you invite them to your practice to share your playbook with them?
Do you sandbag it? Then you really don't learn much - assuming they are not going to show you their best moves/tactics either. Then what's the point?
Or maybe you hit it hard, win by a large margin and deter any future thought of aggression - great! Or maybe you sandbag it and lose, and thus embolden an enemy to try something, resulting in real-world conflict and loss of life - not so good!
I don't really see an upside to this idea.
When I was Airforce we wanted to kill ‘em not train ‘em!
That really ticked me off when I first say Wolverines I thought you meant UofM/s
