Murder in Afghanistan
American Spectator ^ | Mar. 12 2012 | Ross Kaminsky

With Sunday's news that a US soldier massacred 16 Afghan civilians, mostly women and children, in their sleep and then burned the bodies, the little that the US can claim to have achieved in Afghanistan, at great cost over a decade, is now likely to be lost.

No American, and probably no westerner, will be safe in Afghanistan for a decade after the soldier's murderous rampage. Really, if they're willing to murder people over burned books, imagine the intensity of Afghan hatred for a truly heinous crime against sleeping civilians, with one man losing all 11 members of his family.

Although speculation is pointless, the first thing that comes to mind, especially with reports that this soldier is a sergeant (rather than a lower-ranked soldier) is revenge against Afghanistan for the murder of multiple US soldiers by Afghans following the recent burning of a few Korans by American soldiers.

Although I understand a soldier's desire for vengeance against a nation which demands apologies for singed books but offers none for murder, this soldier's actions are obviously beyond sanction and deserving of the death penalty -- even if he claims insanity.

As is his wont, President Obama has already apologized to the president of Afghanistan, who has said that the murders "cannot be forgiven." While I understand Karzai's feelings, and would likely share them, it is a distinctly unhelpful line of rhetoric from the nation's leader if he actually cared about maintaining any even superficially friendly relationship with the United States.

The fact that he said what he said means he is more concerned with domestic politics than with his "alliance" with the United States. That focus is all the easier when dealing with a US president who projects weakness and fecklessness at every opportunity, ...

Weakness and fecklessness. At the very least.

Sure, blame Obastard's feckless and cowardly bahavior and his failures in Afghanistan on ONE soldier.

Like all wars, this war won’t be won until there are large scale civilian casualties.

A sergeant out of how many hundreds in the place, who is believed to probably have gone mad. Compare that to how many militant Islamists go mad... oops, that is, believe the Koran with all their heart right down to the murderous details.

I never like to see a child killed but I remember when thousands of Americans were murdered on 9-11, many of them women and children, the scum of the world, otherwise known as Muslims, stood in the streets cheering.

Day after day exposure to the life those savages live and the rules of engagement developed by our failed leadership and how they keep good soldier’s from defending themselves and from winning the peace probably drove this poor man to the edge of reality.

A REAL president like Reagan would never tolerate this third work bastard Karzai and would put him in his place in under a second.

Shut off all aid and bring our soldiers home. Let Afghanistan burn.

Some American servicemen burn a few Korans and the whole country flips out.

An American serviceman snaps and kills and burns sixteen civilians and so far nothing.

If that isn’t an argument for leaving that country to its miserable fate I don’t know what is.

I am somewhat certain that there will be less “outrage” among the MoHAMhead savages over this than there was over the burning of the Koran.

The only thing those savages fear is genocidal reprisals like that one.

As awful as it was, it is probably the only thing that will quiet them down.

Any riots today?

No.

Any targeted assassinations of Americans?

No.

It may be that the MoHAMhead savages are worried that if they do that, it may set off more than just one lone American on a murderous rampage.

“the little that the US can claim to have achieved in Afghanistan, at great cost over a decade, is now likely to be lost.”

We have ‘achieved’ nothing in afghanistan. NOTHING! Under bush we created yet another totalitarian islamist state. We have lost more American lives since obama took office than throughout the entire rest of that war. obama turned our troops into cannon fodder. There is American blood on his hands and he revels in it.
I don’t like to see innocent people ‘murdered’ either, but who in afghanistan is ‘innocent’?

I have studied several news reports from interviews with village Taliban(they are all Taliban) and they say it was a “group” in Soldiers. The staff Sargent has taken the rap but this is much bigger and cent comm knows it. It is my view that these soldiers were pissed because 6 Americans were killed by implants for burning books used to write notes between prisoners and that stupid President of ours fanned the flames by apologizing!! What should have happened was the summary execution of those using the books in reprisal.
Any way I’m pretty sure that this attack was a military reprisal for the needless killing of 6 great American soldiers by the implants reprisal for burning the communications between their fellow prisoner ( that stupid Obama just gave the prison back to the control of that corrupt Karzi!)
Now the interesting thing is that if it was several soldiers, that blows the propaganda that this great Staff sergeant with 3 tours of duty in Iraq was not off his rocker at all. He was sick to his gut with Obama’s looser mentality and goes out with honor. We will see but I think the eye witness reports are screwing things up. This is a war and you cannot refine it.

Lyndee Englund, Karpinski, et al, totally set the Iraqis against us, as we mocked them; prolonging the Iraq war by about four years!

Now we have a recent Quoran pyre, and now 16 civilians deaths in Afganistan, so that these locals can cut off our western heads with impunity..

Zer0 and his band will bow to the muzzies, yet I believe it’s time for the Son of Shock and Awe to wipe the Afgan insurgents off the face of the map!

Lot’s of collateral!

“You’re either with us or you’re against us!

This F****** idiot wants the death penalty for this soldier but then goes on to say:

My view, which I've maintained for several years, is that we should leave Afghanistan to the Afghans, but tell their central government and each of the nation's powerful warlords that should any harm befall American interests anywhere in the world due to people whom we can trace back, in an operational sense, to areas under their control, we will turn those areas into glass, making sure to target the areas' rulers

and their families

, and we will then douse every body we can find with pig blood, so they cannot enter the Muslim version of heaven.

WTF????
