Illinois Republican Primary

The Race in Illinois Mitt Romney and his allies have pounded Rick Santorum on television and radio, especially in the expensive market of Chicago, where the suburban vote could prove decisive for Mr. Romney. Mr. Santorum was still hoping for a strong vote from downstate Illinois — abutting two states where he won, Iowa and Missouri — but his aides indicated that their hopes were fading in light of the heavy advertising campaign against him. Mr. Romney’s aides believe a comfortable victory could be at hand on Tuesday, but Mr. Santorum and the rest of the field showed no signs of stepping aside.

I didn't see anything posted about the Illinois election. I hope that this helps.

I have recently made it a practice to post comments in prominent political articles in major newspapers that are about to have a primary or caucus. (I have done so in newspapers in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Missouri, and Illinois. I attempted to do so in Puerto Rico, but their comments section appeared to be having some technical issues.) In these comments I give a list of reasons to vote for Rick Santorum. It has gone relatively smoothly. However, when I posted a comment in the Chicago Tribune, it was removed. I also noticed that they appeared to be systematically removing most of the pro-Santorum comments from the articles. The result is that most people looking at the comments would see almost entirely pro-Romney or anti-Santorum comments. It is their newspaper, and they have the legal right to do so, but it is somewhat revealing about their editorial processes and their ethics.

Like the Chicago Machine is going to allow an honest election... Obama wants Romney to be the Nominee. Why even pretend?

Illinois - back when I lived there in the 50s & 60s in nw suburbs - was controlled by Chicago lib voters, the way Pennsylvania has been/is controlled by Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

Looks like lib-Mitt is pounding Newt & Rick, pretty badly. The Chicago Machine has done its work, again.

Early returns have Romney with a commanding lead, but most of these early votes are from Chicago, where Romney is strong. Although Romney will probably win comfortably, I expect the gap to close considerably as the night wears on.

Well, I voted for Newt at 6:02 a.m. this morning, just after the polls opened.

This is a slow motion train wreck with romney. I will never vote for anyone who wears magic underwear. Can you imagine how bad this liberal is going to get beat.? We need a new party. This one is gone like the whigs forever. Dole, Bush, McCain— Im out.

I voted for Rick Santorum and I stick by that vote.

Once again, my vote in this state doesn't matter...

So the Massachusetts Romneycare vs. Saul Alinsky Jr.

Oye, McCain2 it seems.

Please reconsider.

Vote for “the orange juice can” (Mark Levin’s quote in my tagline); if by chance he wins, we can deal with “that can”, later.

Otherwise, we’re just handing it to 0bummer for another 4yrs of Misery & Hell.

(I’d rather have Newt or Rick... but I’m going to deal with what we’re given. We HAVE to get 0bummer OUT!)

Yes, it’s another Dolt & McLame “hold yer nose and vote” from the corrupt/criminal GOP-e. I know.

The Chicago Machine has done its work, again.

The Illinois union thugs must have been out in full force to skew this primary in their favor. Socialists, regardless of party label, always stick together.

Big labor is a vile force that must be stopped by Constitutional Conservatives. It's nothing more than an extortion racket to fuel the DemonRAT collectivists.

Not me. I see NO difference between Obama and Myth except for the fact that with Myth the right will be blamed for the disaster. I WILL not support Romney - now it’s just a question of whether it’s 3rd party or skipping Prez and voting downticket only.

Hank

Wish I could find a “quick cure” for Big Labor’s racket. It’s so ingrained and entrenched in our society, I’m afraid the general public will won’t see it for what it is, and do “something” about it. The Law is neutered/impotent and in Big Labor’s pocket; bought-and-sold.

I’m with you, Romney can actually do more damage because the Repubs will feel obligated to support him and his liberal judges.

CBS TV News calls Illinois for Romney by nearly 2-1 over Santorum.

Paul 3rd

Gingrich 4th

Yes, Myth = 0bummer-Lite. But I’ll vote for “the can”, Conservative downticket too, and deal with “the can” later, if he wins. Which he probably won’t, given that so much of The Conservative Base is not voting for him.

We’re getting 4 more years of much-worse-than-it-is-right-now.

Me neither, Hank.

I will not hold my nose ever again and vote for a Rino..in this case a worthless, back stabbing, unscrupulous, dishonorable liberal, author of Obamacare Rino from Massachusetts.

With you. I see no need to agonize over whether to vote for either of these corrupt and corrupting men. I reject them both, with finality. I am under no mandate to go incinerate innocents and truth on either the right hand tophet nor on the left hand tophet. May both get what they have earned.
