I realize there are many here who would agree with this depiction, as well as many who would not.
Regardless, I would hope that no one would accept or condone such an example of journalistic irresponsibility, to use such a term before the shooter has been arrested, charged or convicted.
I am not sure why I am writing this here, perhaps it is an opus of a kind (a sadly weak one, to be sure), but this has scared me. I will file a complaint with the FCC, for whatever good that will do, but this, along the discussion of this case here has changed me in a way that I'm not sure I understand.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to the many posters who have taught me alot, made me think, made me bite my tongue, and helped me grow up. I've gotten far more from FR and Freepers than I've given, and that's humbling.
Especially Salvation and her Catholic ping list, which has been a wonderfully enriching resource.

In news breaks on the radio, and on the 6:00 TV broadcast, the specific term “Murdered Teen” was both spoken and put in the accompanying on-screen graphic.
Sheppard Smith has convicted the shooter. I don’t have anough information yet.
May we have both sides of the story, please?

The other story. Last weekend gun-lawed Chicago had 50 shootings, 12 murders. Where’s the media? The media says the warm weather did it.
Racial agitation. Obama and racialist blacks and whites have set back race relations 50 years. They have inculcated the feeling in many black people that everything is “whity’s fault”. The white liberals are feeding this narrative and agitating them, just like they feed the islamo-facists narrative that everything wrong in the world is “America’s fault”.

I’ll bet no one here knows that Trayvon Martin was “lynched with a gun.” It’s true, folks. Just listen to the outrageous commentary this evening on HLN Network.
I just heard the same description on cable’s HLN. This is the slant they’re trying to put out there.

That is an incredible case of journalistic malfeasance.
One thing I will say about them is they always use such mealy words as “alleged” even when there is no doubt as to what happened, yet in this case where no one seems to know what really happened and by just about any standard there is a question as to his guilt even if he did what the race hustlers are saying.
That had to be a purposeful misuse of their power. Not some error of judgement, just plain agitation.
Look, if this case would be beneficial to Obama & Holder, they would have jumped on it immediately. It isn’t and both Obama & Holder will go very, very slow in investigation and outcomes for obvious reasons. The basic fact that the alleged shooter was not arrested or even charged with a crime by the Sanford, Florida police indicates something happened there that we do not know about.
I find the facts of this case are not yet truly evident. Only time and investigation will reveal what really happened. Obama will not touch this with a ten foot pole. He will force Holder to take action and if Holder bungles it, Holder will be the fall guy not Obama. This one is fraught with political danger for Obama. The alleged shooter in this incident is an Hispanic not a White person. Obama cannot afford any attack on Hispanics!!! He must have the Hispanic vote in November, or its bye bye Obama!!!
It would be wise to stand by, and let the facts surface before rushing to judgement of anyone on either side. Sadly, certain Black Americans have acted without the facts being known. Not good for them or Obama as is now being shown as this tragic episode plays out. The left-wing radical element is having a ball. Obama is not!!!

Before we string him up, would it be OK to ask some questions and include some points from the other side?
The Hispanic guy Zimmerman was the only one to volunteer for block watch. He was credited for stopping several crimes in the neighborhood by a BLACK family whom he was close to. He also has black family members. Community members stated that he was NOT the Rambo type.
Witness states the black football player ( aka the skittles carrying teen) was on top of the Hispanic guy “pummeling” him. Zimmerman’s screams for help can be heard on the 911 tapes. Police noted that Zimmerman had a bloodied nose and head and concluded it was self defense.
We can debate the wisdom of following a suspicious hooded person who entered a gated community (that he did not live in) that experienced 25 robberies/burglaries in the last year...but in the debate can we at least examine both sides?
Yes, the teen was carrying skittles, do all people get immunity for their actions when carrying candy now? What if the Hispanic guy had a Hershey bar in his pocket-would that make what he did any different?
Yes, people are claiming he was in that community to visiting his dad’s girlfriend...but does that give him the right to assault someone who asked what he was doing in the neighborhood? What if the Hispanic guy did not have a gun and the football player continued to beat him? Would you have simply laid there getting beaten and not used your weapon?
I wish this did not happen, and more evidence may well come out for and/or against the shooter. But can we hold the rope a bit so we can learn some more?
Yes, I did. It is outrageous. Did you hear the black gentleman earlier say that He was afraid that there could be race riots like those in LA— not that he supported such a thing, though.
I really feel like calling my cable provider and asking them to remove HLN and its sensationalism from the air. Those people are just out for money and reputation.
