One problem: Rick Santorum never said he would ‘rather have Barack Obama as president’
Daily Caller ^ | March 23, 2012 | Matt K. Lewis

Rick Santorum is getting grief — even from some of his supporters — for saying we’d be better off sticking with Barack Obama.

The only problem is…he didn’t say that.

Here’s what Santorum actually said:

“You win by giving people a choice. You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who’s just going to be a little different than the person in there. If you’re going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate of the future,” Santorum told a crowd at USAA.

But Romney’s response — that he was “disappointed to hear that Rick Santorum would rather have Barack Obama as president than a Republican” — was utterly misleading.

I missed this little gem. Romney capitalized on the lie. Well done Mitt. Too bad the media won't be lying in your favor in the general. Well, that's not quite true. There is FOX.

Santo is in WAY over his head. That much is obvious. And his fanatical following has to constantly “clarify” what it was he “really” said.......

Is there some other language we are missing here? Where the actual message is lost in the interpretation? According to them it is. And we must all be idiots for not understanding what is painfully, an utter embarrassment.

Santorum has a knack of making himself look bad.

The media has a knack for making whoever they choose look bad. Each candidate is guilty of gaffes.

Like him or not, its time to get behind Romney and help him defeat the Muslim Marxist.

And what issue exactly are we going to be able to fight Obummer with when that loser Lib RINO is our candidate?

Obamacare? No

Tax and Cap? No

Gay Agenda? No

Govt' Mandates? No

Man Made Global Warming Hoax? No

2nd Amendment issues? No

The TARP bailouts? No

High Gas Prices are bad for the country? No

Looks like all the major issues of the day are going to be off the table because the Rats will be able to point to the record of Romney and say that he agreed with the President. Swell.

Like it or not, Rick is 100% right about Romney taking important issues off the table for the GOP and now Milt is saying that the economy is improving so what is the point of even having him the nominee since that is all he has to offer?

He would clean house as President Santorum and would staff Washington with TOP CONSERVATIVES in all government agencies, cleaning out that place. He would grow in the job. He would have it no more easier or tough than the national MSM towards Ronald Reagan. Convinced of it. You gotta admit. Santorum is an absolute energetic, sincere, fighting, scrappy tireless campaigner and will not give up. He has "Presidential fire in the belly" and is having a great time at the same time. God Bless Him daily, he will prevail I feel it. Just when the media and Elite GOP-e get cocky, WHAM!, they are in for a Southern and Heartland Surprise. Outspent like that, with an array of national RINOs against him and he is still winning primaries or coming in second. This guy has incredible moxie, not a soul can tell or show me otherwise. I think strength must be from the family and their daily praying sessions and masses and huddles before heading out there again for one more vigorous day to stay in the race. HATS OFF TO SUCH A MAN IN OUR PARTY.

I'd have to go along with that...he hands the media their plays....his lack of discerning ability comes into play and his mouth moves accordingly........something well known in Congress and here in PA.

I will vote for Santorum when this circus gets to NJ... anybody over Romney.

But it’s sad that the choice we have now is between Mr. Stupid and Mr. Evil.

Between the Dummy and the Devil.

NO WAY IN HE!! I will ONLY vote for Santorum or Gingrich. If they are not the nominees than too bad. People like you have zero principles. You probably wanted Romney from the start. Romney is no better than Obama. Please explain your love for Romney. I can’t think of one thing that would make me hold my nose. I did hold my nose for McCain because he chose Palin and he served his country. Romney never even served the country. Yuk. Sure your gonna say that Gingrich and Santorum haven’t either, but they are acceptable candidates to me. Romney is NOT.

The cancer of Obama”care” now extends to choosing a “Public health expert for the World Bank Presidency.”
_______

The major problem with THE NINE SUPREMES is that they are chosen for political reasons by the POTUS, and then they vote as an un-accountable democracy, for a Nation that is NOT a Democracy, but a REPUBLIC.

As a result, THE NINE SUPREMES commonly vote 5 to 4 on most issues. Constitutionality is seldom a consideration, and their up-coming ruling on Obama”care” will prove my point.

Now is the time to stand and deliver to address our grievances to the dictates of the Left.

Oppose the dictates of Dictator Baby-Doc Barack!

Our ONLY chance to ABOLISH Obama”care” rests with THE NINE SUPREMES, because Romney will be defeated by Obama.

IMHO, if Romney is anointed as the RNC Nominee, THE main issue in the National Election, Obama”care,” will be taken off the campaign table. Hence, Romney will not only lose, but suffer another crushing, and sadly typical, RINO defeat.

To those who want poster ideas, here are a few ideas for demonstration posters:

Obama”care” was robo-signed by Congress, and is therefore illegal.

Obama”care” was 2700 pages long, and is still being written, but not by Congress: witness the forced contraception coverage recently added by HHS Regulators.

Obama”care” has caused “The Catholic Spring.”

Obama”care” reduces competition, and therefore is illegal by the 1890 Sherman Anti-Trust Law.

Obama”care” is designed to be a US Federal Government monopoly, with no competition.

Obama”care” also is illegal according to the US Constitution, because it violates our freedom of choice.

Will THE NINE SUPREMES notice any of these three violations? I seriously doubt it.

Impeached Bill Clinton proved that the US President is above US Federal Law, so anything that the President wants he gets, regardless of the Federal Laws that he has violated.

I agree with you.

Santorum said “If you’re going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have...”

The “little different” is obviously Romney, “stay with what we have” is obviously Obama.

So, yes, Santorum IS saying that he'd rather have Obama than Romney. His statement cannot be spun any other way.

Now, I am POSITIVE that Santorum doesn't really believe that. His remark was just careless. Which, unfortunately, is the sign of someone not ready for prime time.

I pray Santorum will not by luck become president, it would be a daily carnage by media.

Yeah. Because when Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush I and Bush II were President, it was smooth sailing everyday for them with the MSM. They never fabricated stories to try and destroy them. Give me a break.

But as usual with Santorum, he’s so poorly spoken, and such a simple tool, that it’s easy for the left (like Drudge) to twist his words.

Drudge posting "SANTORUM SNAPS......." is a bit more than twisting his words. Here's various definitions of snapThe only one that applies is this:

To suffer a physical or mental breakdown, especially while under stress:

Santorum is not an idiot.....he's just running against the Republican machine with little support. The long knives have been sharpened for anything he says. Romney/they will not be denied.

If Gingrich was in second place, trust me, we'd find out how "idiotic" his statements are. (and I'm not saying Newt or his statements ARE idiotic.)
