Top 10 RINOs (Republicans in Name Only) Human Events 12/27/05 - (Mitt Romney is ranked #8)
Human Events ^ | 12/27/2005

Ranked by the editors of Human Events.

1. Sen. Lincoln Chafee (R.I.) Once approached by Democratic Leader Harry Reid to switch parties, Chafee has long supported liberal policies. He backs legal abortion, gay rights, federal-funded health care, strict environmental protections and a higher minimum wage. Opposes ANWR drilling. Also was the only Republican in Congress not to endorse the President’s reelection and one of three who tried to gut Bush’s tax cuts.

2. Sen. Olympia Snowe (Maine) A self-described “centrist,” Snowe scored a 100% pro-choice voting record as scored by NARAL and consistently votes with Democrats on social issues.

3. Sen. Arlen Specter (Pa.) “Snarlin’ Arlen” warned Bush not to nominate judges who might overturn Roe v. Wade, joined Chaffee reducing tax cuts and supported Democrats on the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, HMO and overtime regulation. Also opposed school choice in Washington, D.C.

4. Sen. Susan Collins (Maine) Voted with liberals on the 1999 tax cut, campaign finance reform and the partial-birth abortion ban. Also advocated “pay-as-you-go” tax cuts with spending increases in 2004, leading to a budget never agreed upon between the House and Senate.

5. Rep. Christopher Shays (Conn.) He led the House fight for McCain-Feingold campaign finance “reform.” He’s also prone to back environmental causes, gun control and abortion rights. He had no GOP challenger in 2004, but narrowly escaped defeat, 52% to 48%, by a Democratic opponent in the general election.

. . . . . . . . . .

8. Gov. Mitt Romney (Mass.) Has said, “I believe that abortion should be safe and legal in this country.” Supports civil unions and stringent gun laws. After visiting Houston, he criticized the city’s aesthetics, saying, “This is what happens when you don’t have zoning.”

I tried to organize a petition of conservatives willing to vow not to vote for Romney...it didn’t happen. I may be the only one but I vow to never vote for Romney. He’ll still win handily, many disaffected liberals will enthusiastically vote for him.

Where is Santorum? Any so called Republican who is against the Right to Work is definitely a RINO. Santorum voted against Right to Work. Why isn't he there?
I guess the MSM wants to keep a pro-union RINO going.

Actually, given his Progressive LIberal Record, Obama and the media will tear him to shreds and he will loss worse than John McCain.

You think what Romney did to both Newt and Rick was horrendous and effective?

Wait until both Obama and his minions in the media do to Romney with the ample ammunition he has provided them with his extreme Progressive LIberal record.

It's not going to be pretty.

His record: 1. Implemented and supported Gay Marriage 2. Supported and forced Gay Adoption 3. Supported the Brady Bill 4. Implemented a state-level "Assault" Weapons Ban AFTER the Federal AWB was allowed to expire. 5. Supported TARP 6. Believes in Man-Made Global Warming. 7. Supported a state level Cap-and-Trade system in MA. 8. Supported Amnesty for Illegal Aliens (pathway to citizenship) 9. Raised taxes/fees by 300% while governor of MA. 10. Implemented a Socialist Health-Care program in MA called RomneyCare with $50 dollar Abortions and an Individual Mandate.

He’s also prone to back environmental causes

'Environmental' causes is a leftist-invented fraudulent name. Should be 'anti-energy' causes, since they do nothing to help the environment but do much to restrict energy production and free-market capitalism. Other than that, it's a good article.

Right to work is best left up to the states obviously. I guarantee there are plenty of states that are more than happy to have a forced union state next door.

In fact the states have done far more on their own in the way of pro freedom legislation than the feds have done in decades if ever.

That's because he's seriously conservative, otherwise he would rank #1!

I may be the only one but I vow to never vote for Romney.

I said the same thing 4 years ago about McCrazy and I actually knew him. When push comes to shove we will all,(or most of us) will come to our senses and vote for the better of the two in the general. I may not be a Romney supporter, but what else do we have?
At least Romney has accomplished something. Other than Newt none of the other Republican candidates still running have accomplished anything.
I am all in for Newt, but if he can not win let's vote for the only other person who can rid us of Obama.
