All we know from the article is that Martin was shot from very close range.. the two were on the ground and it’s plausible that they struggled for control of the gun.

I’m sure Martin didn’t notice Zimmerman was armed until he was underneath him. Which certainly doesn’t make Zimmerman trigger happy, as he would have pulled the weapon much earlier. It’s highly likely Zimmerman felt at risk of himself being shot by the weapon.
One could argue that if he hadn’t been carrying it wouldn’t have come to this... but I don’t see where the police had any choice other than to release him.

The truth is coming out. FOX, the Orlando Sentinal, local stations all over the country (including right here in BOise Idaho) even CNN are now reporting these things. Even though the MSM and Obama and left do not want you to know about the eyewitness accounts of the fight showing Trayvon as the attacker:

The truth is still coming out and the special state investigative team will use it. There may be no need for a grand jury given what we are finding out. And if there is, this evidence will be a big part of what they look into.

Fact is, on the tape when told by 911 not to follow the kid, Zimmerman says, "OK" and there is no evidence at this point that he did continue the pursuit thereafter.

In fact, it looks like he was returning to his vehicle when an angry Trayvon confronted him and attacked him.

If any of us were being assaulted, had been stunned and knocked to the ground and the individual who did it was now on top of us slamming our head onto the concrete walkway...what would we do at that point?

Zimmerman called for help. It did not come and he was still being assaulted. It is unclear exactly what happened then...whether Trayvon actually saw the gun and they struggled for it...but I tell you, if a 6' 3" guy in good health had me down and was doing that, I would fear for my life and if I had a gun, I would shoot him to preserve my life.

I believe that is what happened at this point...but am still content to wait for all the evidence to come out.

Whatever else, the race baiters, the President, the MSM, and those of their ilk (including the incindiary New Black Panthers calling for violence and vigilantism) are all trying to bury this and make it a divisive, strife issue to divert attention away from Obama's failed presidency.

While the Zimmerman/Martin ‘white’ on black killing is covered 24/7 on the MSM with an outpouring of rage and charges of a racial hate crime, where is the concern- where is the rage about the home invasion, torture, beating, rape and murder of the elderly white couple by a gang of feral blacks in Oklahoma just last week?

The 90 year old war veteran husband was beaten and his jaw broken. He was shot in the face numerous times with a BB gun and sent to the hospital in critical condition.

The 85 year old partially blind wife was RAPED and then BEATEN TO DEATH.
(She was most likely gang raped numerous times...but we will never know for sure)

Can you just imagine how this poor old lady must have suffered during the rape, and how the old husband must have suffered being forced to witness it?

Both the husband and wife were weak, having just gotten over the flu.
They were no longer able to care for themselves, and were scheduled to be admitted to a nursing home the next day.
