“Most don’t want...completely overturned”? = somewhere north of 50% of cretins want Junior to continue getting coverage “for free” until age 26.

which provisions do they want kept?”

“They” want those provisions kept that they like or see as being of benefit to them. If it doesn’t benefit them, then you obviously don’t need it either.

"They get that from statistics. The reciprocal of the square of the sample size= margin...."

OK, I'm not a statistician and I presume you are....but that still doesn't sound right. That would mean a sample of 1000 would have a margin of error of 1/10,000th of one percent (1/1,000,000)? I've seen polls with sample sizes larger than that, showing margins of error between 1 and 2 percent.

But I don't pretend to be an expert. I'd be interested in seeing where I'm wrong.

What he’s saying is take the square root of 1000, 31.6227766, and then take the reciprocal.

1/31.6227766 to get 0.316227766 or 3.2%.

Here’s a question: Do you personally know anyone who thinks ObamaCare is a good idea?

One of the obvious things you quickly learn about the Left, is that they never want someone with knowledge on a given subject to be involved in discussions to make things better.

What they want is for their academics to be the driving force in any fix. And that’s why they never actually fix anything. They merely screw it up beyond belief.

Reports out of the ObamaCare committees were that no physicians or medical industry people were involved in it’s development.

So people conducting a poll that think you shouldn’t be able to express your opinion, conform to the Left’s views and in particular Obama’s.

No, the margin for n=1000 is 3.16.

Not a statistician, but I use statistics a lot. If you had a group made up of subgroups and you are combining them, margins can be different. Also, there are different ways to get that number, but the one I showed is basic.

It does seem bogus to poll 1000 people and declare that it represents 300,000,000 people to 3%, but that’s the math.

I, too, am not a statistician but have to work with stats routinely. The concept of a “margin of error” being the inverse of(sqrtX) makes “margin of error” a statistical construct rather than an indication of the real potential for the estimate to be incorrect. The underlying thing being measured is one of the factors influencing true likelihood of the estimate being incorrect. For example, if I am surveying 1000 people regarding their eye color or sex, I will get a more estimate than if I am asking them whether Istanbul has a larger population than Athens or if their spouse trusts the employee at the checkout counter. Some things are inherently more difficult to estimate, are complex in detail, or are subject to change. A more professional measurement of the accuracy of an estimate of an attitude such as this is reliability, measured in several ways, or validity, much more difficult to establish and also measured in a variety of ways.

So 73% of Adults want ALL or PART of the overturned, even among the biased CNN sample?

That is LOL funny.

If 73% of SCOTUS thinks that way, its a good day.

Only if the 1000 are truly “random.” In most opinion polls, they are not.

Yeah, I dont want it ALL overturned...

just the mandate, the taxes, the payroll ad-on tax, the medicare tax add-on, the medicaid forced expansion that will add billions in costs, the regs on pre-existing conditions coverage, the 54 bureacracies, the medicare cuts, the added regulations on doctor-owned hospitals, the coverage of kids up to 26 on employer insurance, the Death Panel coverage rules, the forced exchanges, the HHS rule-making authority, coverage for illegal aliens,

... but they are funding a rural hospital on an indian reservation with a grant for $1.1m .... they can keep that part. LOL.
