Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.) on Wednesday morning was asked to leave the House floor after removing his suit jacket to reveal a "hoodie," then putting the hood of his sweatshirt on his head to protest the Trayvon Martin killing in Florida. A photo of Rush can be seen here.
"Racial profiling has to stop," Rush said. "Just because someone wears a hoodie does not make them a hoodlum." Rush also put on sunglasses.
Rush quoted the Bible while presiding officer Gregg Harper (R-Miss.) repeatedly interrupted him, then asked the Sergeant at Arms to enforce the House prohibition on hats in the chamber.

In true irony, the Trayvon Martin droolers don’t even understand that THEY ARE THE RACIAL PROFILERS because they:
1. Look at the color of Zimmerman’s skin, and
2. Assign a whole morass of racist attributes to him based on the color of his skin.
They are profiling him as a racist in this murder in absence of the facts about Zimmerman. THAT IS PROFILING!!!

I do not know this was mentioned, Bobby Rush violated a rule from 1837, rule 377 that “No member wear a hat during a session”,
Clause five of rule 17 prohibits the wearing of hats in the chamber when the House is in session.
The more they do this, the more they look like idiots to a) 95% of Republicans; b) better than 60% of independents; c) maybe 5-10% of Democrats, mostly blue collar conservative types. I say, the more they humiliate themselves, the better. They obviously have not run focus groups on this, otherwise they would see how it is tarnishing their image and creating a mental backlash, even if it does radicalize and turn out to the polls their rather insigificant (by the numbers) base that they have.
