Wis. GOP Sen. Johnson endorses Romney
The Hill ^ | April 1, 2012 | Rachel Leven

Wisconsin GOP Sen. Ron Johnson endorsed presidential hopeful Mitt Romney on Sunday.

Johnson announced the endorsement on MSNBC’s Meet the Press (MTP), according to a Sunday morning tweet from MTP executive producer Betsy Fischer.

The senator’s support is the latest endorsement for Romney, as Republican party heavyweights seek to coalesce around the GOP front-runner. Johnson’s endorsement follows fellow Wisconsin lawmaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R), who announcement his support for Romney last week.

Johnson brings Tea Party support to Romney, who has battled perceptions by many GOP voters that he is insufficiently conservative.

Johnson brings Tea Party support to Romney, who has battled perceptions by many GOP voters that he is insufficiently conservative.

And he has proved their point by endorsing Romney.

Just damn...I’d have far more confidence in Romney after these Tea Party endorsements if I trusted that the Tea Party wing of the GOP would have any say whatsoever once he’s in office.

But I don’t.

These guys might as well endorse Obama since that is where this political season is leading us.

The GOP-E and GOP machine have been pumping Romney up but still he can’t break 50 percent of the vote in GOP primary or caucus that isn’t in the Far West or Northeast.

Most Republicans don’t want Romney, especially in the Plains and the South where Mitt can hardly break 30 percent of the vote.

Republican party heavyweights....and that right there is the problem.

I can’t stand it when someone who got elected by the Tea Party thinks he now speaks for the Tea Party. He brings Tea Party support to Romney? They wish!

“This is discouraging.”

When I see the GOP establishment piling on, it only energizes me more.

Endorsement isn’t setting too well with the Wisconsin TEA Party facebook users. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Wisconsin-Tea-Party/212487222095329

Great FB post: “IMHO, the politically bred Myth Romney is as much a TEA Party type as King George III was. What gives a termporary politician like Senator Ron Johnson any assumed “rights” to speak on behalf of Wisconsin TEA Party?”

We are sure going to have a long list of newly identified RINO’s and GOP-e lackeys.

It’s looking like I will not be able to vote this time around.

No Romney.
No Saintorum.

“Johnson brings Tea Party support to Romney, who has battled perceptions by many GOP voters that he is insufficiently conservative.”

Johnson’s endorsement of Romney won’t help with the perception that Romney is insufficiently Conservative and may cause some to percrceive that Senator Johnson is insufficiently Conservative.

I am very disappointed with the way so many so-called conservatives are caving into tptb. I live in Wisconsin and this is concerning to me. I am really discouraged.
Don’t tell me that not voting for Romney is the same as a vote for Obama. I will vote for a conservative; third party or write-in.
