U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcements (ICE) agents, as part of what the agency says is its commitment to prioritizing the removal of criminal aliens and egregious immigration law violators, has arrested more than 3,100 convicted criminal aliens, immigration fugitives and immigration violators in a six-day national Cross Check enforcement operation.
ICE Director John Morton said Monday the operation, which he described as the largest of its kind, involved the collaboration of more than 1,900 ICE officers and agents from all of the agencys Enforcement and Removal Operations 24 field offices, assistance from ICE Homeland Security Investigations as well as coordination with federal, state and local law enforcement partners throughout the United States.
Arrests occurred in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, three U.S. territories and the District of Columbia.
Mr. Morton said those arrested included 2,834 persons with prior criminal convictions including at least 1,063 who had multiple convictions, including murder, manslaughter, attempted murder, kidnapping, assault, armed robbery, terroristic threats, drug trafficking and crimes against children.
Fifty of those arrested were identified as gang members and 149 were convicted sex offenders.
In addition to being convicted criminals, Mr. Morton 698 of those arrested were also immigration fugitives who had previously been ordered to leave the country but failed to depart. Additionally, 559 were illegal re-entrants who had been previously removed from the country.

What a sad joke.
As upwards of 25 million illegals run through the streets of America.
..and how many of those re-entered more than 3 times?
3100 convicted criminal aliens. I could find them in a day, by myself. It would be a long day mind you.
Very sad indeed, it’s a mere pittance of criminal illegals.
I wonder if sanctuary cities were included in this sweep. Silly me, of course they weren’t.
Funny stuff, as even red states like Texas are literally crawling with illegals. Of course we can pretend they're not.
Another answer to the question, “how can you tell when it’s an election year?”
Thanks jazusamo.
Let’s see-—operation took six days-— involved 1900 agents——rounded up 3100 illegals-—WHY THAT’S 1.63 illegals per agent-——I DON’T THINK I GOT MY MONEYS WORTH...
I note that of the three illegals found most noteworthy two were NOT Mexican.
Several statistics were stated, but not the percentage of illegals from each country.
We have illegals here from every possible nation on earth, not just Mex./So. America!
This was a good start ONLY if it is repeated EVERY DAY.
Twenty plus MILLION more to go!
3100 convicted criminal aliens. I could find them in a day, by myself. It would be a long day mind you.
In other words, a centrally planned big government operation.
This type of "law enforcement" operation implies that immigration law enforcement is increasingly becoming centrally selective.
The obvious question is WHY was central command coordination necessary to enforce the law of the land? What where local law enforcement waiting for? Why were all these illegals here to be arrested if they were already known about?
This looks like a dog and pony show to me to mask what is really going on.
