BTW...was delegate at my local convention this past weekend...John Kline spoke and dang near RAN out the door so as to avoid ANY questions! (said he was on the way to another convention, so I cut him some slack),,,I restrained myself and only went to the mic three times for a “point of order....” ;-) Had one Ron Paul idiot escorted out by the Sgt at Arms, for causing disruption...otherwise it was an uneventful day...although those elected to state delegate this time was surprising at best! Many MANY of the party supporters were voted out and many MANY new faces voted in, and YES, the majority of those are PAULITES!! (puke)
I haven’t declared anything other than my intent to run, which was all I had to do. Convention is Saturday. I’ll flop over dead if I actually win. lol. I have less than zero political connections.

I always said that our local news stations are so Steeler obsessed that one of these days they will begin a newscast with something like:

btw.....funny story....I was at the 2nd Sheriff Joe presser in Surprise Az the end of the month.....had a cool tight fittin hat on but was requested to remove it in the filmin area and dang it...got called on for my question.....camera a foot away and my hair looked like a 1/2 hour ago road kill

Thanks. I’m not expecting to get it; I’ve never done anything like this, and the convention is Saturday so. . .
But if nothing else, it’s a learning experience for the next time and I can finally say I’ve at least done something to make a difference.
I do not understand ice fishin but that is a chat for another day........and NO...I cut it to let it grow back pretty....it didn’t.

WHen I voted today some/most of the delegates has who they support listed by their name. I don’t recall ever seeing that before. Then we had to vote for a back up delegate and all but two were for either Mittens or Paul so I voted for the one that had no candidate by their name. I don’t recall ever voting for a back up delegate either. Maybe it’s a Merryland thing?
I dont know if this will hep or not (it seemed to a time or two around here ;-)...if you wear something that catches the eye...(like a bright colored blazer or sweater)..or something “memorable”..then after you introduce yourself...people remember you when it comes to voting time...if yours is anything like ours,,,there were so many up for election, the names all blurred..but I did recall those who said something memorable...and also by recalling what they were wearing ;-) (Must be a chick thing) LOL Best of luck to you!!!!!
Check out your local convention rules/voting rules section or your local GOP constitution...it should state clearly whether or not voting “preference” should be listed or not...I know ours clearly states NOT—so there may or may not have been some shenanigens on the part of your party leaders or those that preppared the convention ballots...
Also..with regard to “back up delegates”....we vote for the allotted delegates (for instance my area gets 30....there were about 70 that wanted to be delegates....therefore...the top 30 vote getters are Elected Delegates...then we list (by number of votes) the next 20-30 —depending upon the number authorized) to be “Alternate Delegates”
Sorry to take up the threaad with convention stuff ;-) however, many are new to the convention process and it does help them to have a clue what to expect :-)
