But government has hardly been a passive bystander, using the tax code in a public health push to get smokers to quit.ROTFLMAO!
Bu!!sh!t, government has been using the tax code to redistribute income, NOT to stop people from from smoking!

Are the E-cigs being taxed like tobacco? If not then that is the reason for the powers to be to ban them. Follow the money!

The govt does it under the guise that they are preventing kids from smoking. I’ve smoked since I was 12, don’t smoke inside, respect others, and will choose to purchase smokes. These people can kiss my silly white ass.

No, only regular sales tax. That is the rub.

They are also not produced by a major drug manufacturer who donates to candidates for favorable legislation.
But, unlike the above mentioned products, they do work. I turned to them more than 2 years ago, after being a smoker since 1958, and have no desire to turn to real cigarettes again.

Either the FDA is just retarded or else they don’t want to lose tax revenue when people switch to e-cigs. Either way they are pond scum and will be resposible for deaths if they ban them.

The big thing in Tallahassee is cigarette shops. You buy a bag of your choice tobacco, sit down at a machine, and roll your own smokes tax free. Comes out to less than 2.00 a pack. But I understand the time value of money. This will be the next legislative cause behind internet cafes.

Set aside the preposterous notion that a product that produces no secondhand smoke would be included in a public smoking ban. King County (Seattle) health officials justified their ban on public use of e-cigarettes with the logic that "smoking" e-cigarettes in public might cause smokers to think that real cigarettes were permitted in which case they'd light up and contribute to second-hand smoke.
Nope. Can't make this stuff up.

Agreed! There’s no reason why e-cigs should be poo-pooed.
If a person is a nicotine addict, let ‘en e-puff their brains out. What’s the frigging problem?
Declining tax revenues, perhaps?

Are they worth the 10 bucks or so?

Smoking is Sin and emulating smoking is sin also. E-garettes are symbols of smoking so may not be tolerated any more than real smoking.

$2.50 or so for small bottle that can last a week or two or three. Cigarettes would run about a hundred dollars.

The drug store that I have my wife's medicine filled at has to machines they use to be out in the main part of the store until to many people complained about the noise and they moved them into a smaller room off the main building and they have chairs and such set up in there and these folks line up to roll up their tobacco products. It's a little mini culture in the room of avid smokers who want to save some money. In the state that I live in they have mini gas marts called quick trips and I love to stand in line and see someone buy a pack of cigs for 5 bucks or a mini flavored cigar for a buck and a half and let them know that my first pack of cigs was 17 cents in 1963 in AZ. And my last pack was 50 cents in 1986 when I quit smoking. They just roll their eyes and pay through the ass for them anyway.

I was up to two and half packs a day when I quit they had hit 50 cents a pack so I began to roll my own a blend of bugler and kite I was hook on the menthol smoking kool non filters.

For the hardware Ecigarette Supply or Hoosier’s Supply. For liquids I like EcBlends, Ms T’s Bakery Essentials, and Backwoods Brew(Coffee specialty). There are many more. Ecigarette forum is a great place to learn.
