The media dishonestly going after the president of the United States is wrong, but it goes with the territory, and the target in that case is the most powerful man in the world. That is something completely different from the media using lies and half-baked information to label as racist and a liar a private citizen while he's in hiding for fear of his life.

Why crickets from the Latinos?
To me, the two things worse about doing it to Zimmerman:
1) he is not a public figure
2) someone could actually die from it
Freedom of the press is not freedom to lie and distort.
It’s time to start calling advertisers and ask them if they are lying, too.
NBC is outright LYING when they say their bad tape edit was accidental. Yeah right.. “HOW TO AVOID A LAWSUIT 101”.
IMO the media is liable for any violence caused by their strongly biased version of the incident. They should be sued for a couple billion dollars.
Many innocent people have already been badly hurt as a result of the media's propaganda.
FOX took them to task about noon today. Judy Miller was one of the panalist and she didn’t mince words.
I’ll gladly contribute to the “Sue NCB” fund.
I bet the lawyers for ABCNNBCBS are having nervous breakdowns.

Took *who* to task? One or more actual individuals representing NBC?
Or did they just do a third-party panel gripe about what NBC did, with no one from NBC present?
Reason I’m asking: once the media pulls this crap, they themselves become *newsworthy* and their lies to frame an innocent individual become a *story* — and other news outlets OUGHT to be cornering them on the street, 60-minutes style, covering the story and demanding answers!
And someone needs to loudly proclaim
WHY THEY DID IT.
Expose the agenda. Don’t let them get away with “yep, we did that, it was wrong, we’re sorry.”
They did it to incite racial hatred and tension.
They did it with the intent to cause violence against white people.
I haven’t seen any updates on the victim of the hammer attack 6 miles from where Trayvon Martin died—the victim was said to be on life support 3 days ago. Presumably that means he is still alive or there would have been some mention of it. If you Google “Sanford Florida hammer attack” the items that come up are 2 or 3 days old (a FR thread is on the first page, which is a sign of how little interest the mainstream media had in the story).

They did for those things but I believe they did it most of all for Ratings and Advertising dollars. As Walter Cronkite was said to have said... “If it BLEEDS it LEADS.”
Both said there no excuse for NBC. No excuse not naming the people involved.
Miller pointed out that they had not apologized to Zimmerman, had not really admitted their guilt, and have not reported anything to their audience, but simply published a news release to others that was very vague.
Kristin joined in and said that the standard was not just irresponsible, but.... (Don't remember all of the adj she used) but pointed out the entire breakdown of news vetting. How others had picked up the story and repeated without verifying it.
They both said that the network was not responding with answers that everyone. including other media services, were asking.
! No more “-GATE” suffix ! That was Nixon’s deal. This is the Obama era. The correct suffix is “-FRAUD” !
Republicans/Conservatives are strong supporters of Castle Doctrine, Stand Your Ground, Conealed Carry and similar pro-firearm & pro self-defense legislation.
By connecting the shooting to these policies and racism, they intended to pin the blame of Martin's death on Republicans in general.
The “Latinos” are primarily Mexican or Puerto Rican. Mr. Zimmerman is what, half-Inca? anyway, his mother’s from Peru. Why should the Mexicans or Puerto Ricans care?
They want a repeat of “Is London Burning” .
