Hillary Clinton, citing her job, will skip DNC in Charlotte

At the Democratic convention four years ago, her spirited speech helped unite the party behind Barack Obama. And four years from now, many Democrats hope she’ll be the White House nominee delegates rally around.

But as for the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte – Hillary Clinton won’t be coming.

This year, she’s secretary of State. And as the country’s chief diplomat, she’s expected to stay above all things partisan.

Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, will be at the DNC in Charlotte, his spokesman, Matt McKenna, confirmed Friday.

But various federal statutes and the State Department’s ethical guidelines will keep Secretary Clinton in Washington.

This Hillary! will be away is the second data point.

The first is that the Democrat National Convention is being held after the ballot filing deadline for several states.

It is a necessary component of the Torricellin Switch that there be a weeks-long fight over ballot access. This clears the memory of the old, loser candidate, and provides a clean slate for the new candidate. Plus a nasty fight going all the way to the Supreme Court will provide all the distraction the Democrats need.

Can you imagine the wailing as the eeeeevil Republicans try to use the Supreme Court to steal another election, just like Florida 2000? God, what a setup!

The proper response for the RNC is to be prepared for this move, to telegraph it in the weeks leading up to the Democrat National Convention, and to offer absolutely no objection to putting Hillary! on the ballot.

If the possibility is floated before the Democrat Convention, the people will feel like they are being played. People don't like that...

Sounds good to me.If I wanted to know what's going on there I'll just break out my copy of Mao's Little Red Book or Rules For Radicals.

I’ve got so much contempt for Obama that I think Hillary would be a step up.

Yeah right! She doesn’t want to be asked to say something she would be forced to explain later on.

Question: Why pick a fight over Trayvon Martin? The Democrats have the Black Vote in the bag. The Black Vote will go monolithically for Obama, and this thing is hurting him with Whites and Hispanics.

Answer: if Obama is not the nominee, the Democrats are going to need to shore up this voting bloc all they can. The fix is in. The Torricelli Switch is coming. Picking a fight here is just preparation.

Question: Why pick a fight with the Supreme Court? Sure, he is going to lose Obamacare. But this personal attack just makes him look petty and stupid.

Answer: He is preparing for the big ballot access fight after the Torricelli Switch. Notice how people were bringing up Florida 2000. He’s working the refs and setting the story that the Supremes have it in for him personally and the Democrats in general.
