The Jury Will Acquit George Zimmerman
04/11/12

Posted on 04/11/2012 9:11:55 AM PDT by AtlasStalled

I’m highly doubtful whether Zimmerman can get a fair trial even if he is charged, and any time the media gets itself into a frenzy over a case the defendant is acquitted: OJ Simpson, Michael Jackson, Casey Anthony, etc. I think juries understand that once the media gets involved the only fair thing to do is acquit.

Indeed, look at how the media has unfairly mangled the facts so far in the Zimmerman case.

First the media said Zimmerman was white, and it turns out he’s actually Hispanic.

Then the news media edited the 911 call to make it falsely appear that Zimmerman was equating being black with being suspicious, and it turns out it was the 911 dispatcher simply asking Zimmerman for the race of Martin.

Then the media said Zimmerman used a racial slur on the call but enhanced play of the recording shows he used the word “cold” and not another word.

Finally the media said Zimmerman had no head wound but once the images from his police station visit were enhanced there is a gash shown.

I think it’s highly unlikely that Zimmerman can be convicted given the media circus that has ensued to date, and given how much reporting about Zimmerman has been wrong I only wonder about how more is being falsely presented in the unfair bid by some to railroad Zimmerman.

"Just wondering: How did “Hispanic” become a race?"

Thank the federal government for that. One of my associates is labeled "Hispanic" because he's originally from Uruguay. His parents immigrated there from Italy. He's proudly Italian. Not a drop of Hispanic blood in him. Federal regs allow his children to be labeled "Hispanic" even though they have no connection to Uruguay.

In the last LA riots, some of our extended family sat at the home of our uncle, because he owned a gun.

They all sat in one of distant bedrooms and uncle sat in front of the door, holding loaded revolver.

Today these same relatives still unprepared, voting for BO, cursing Right Wingers.

The uncle died awhile ago. He owned a gun because he remembered SS breaking down doors in Poland back in 40’s.

It may take few “victims” to wise up, then again, they’ll all will gather at station to board the train meekly.

Very loosely white and Hispanic due mainly to language. He's half Peruvian who are mostly descendants of the ancient Incas or a mix of white and Inca.

Give you book that if a state jury acquits Zimmerman, or if the state prosecutor declines to prosecute, the Feds will step in and try him on a violation of the kid’s civil rights. you know. One of Holder’s people. What Obozo’s son would have looked like.

The HLN channel has been absolutely shameless in lynching Zimmerman. Dr Drew has shown himself to be a frigging idiot over this case but not to be undone by the two shrews Drace and Velez.

Look for police SWAT forces to step in and end any riots once begun or before they begin.

Just because there was some heritage does not mean Zimmerman thought of himself - or even acted - as Hispanic.

How do Hispanic people act. I know lots of people of Mexican heritage, including many Mexican citizens, a couple of Cubans and at least one Puerto Rican. I see no common behavior, they don't even have the same accents, in English or Spanish. Zimmerman's mother is Peruvian, from the looks of him, likely with a lot of Andean Indian ancestry, if not nearly pure. Hispanic is a term made up by Nixon administration. Latino might mean more, but the same comments apply. The only thing really share is the Spanish language, and in most cases some American Indian ancestry. Although one of the Cuban guys, a naturalized citizen who retired as full Colonel in the USAF, his last name is Irish. I also know a Mexican, who speaks with an upper class Mexico City accent, or so I'm told, whose ancestry is 1/2 Swedish, the other half gringo from Ohio. His name is Sven. Both he and his parents were born in Mexico. Shocked the daylights out of a another Mexican friend, from farther south, who herself has little to no Indio ancestry and has red hair.

Would not be surprised if there will be a call for FL state police SWAT teams to take care of any possible rioting.

But unlike LA, being in the American south where there is a LOT of gun owners and also having a no-nonsense state police system, any possible riots are NOT going to last long or will not start.

I disagree, this reminds me the most of the trials of the police officers in the Rodney King case. While they were initially acquitted by a jury, the Feds swooped in and tried them again to make sure that the angry minorities in Los Angeles got the conviction they wanted. It was truly disgusting, and destroyed my faith in justice.

"Look for police SWAT forces to step in and end any riots once begun or before they begin."

I hope you're right. Our police have openly said they plan on simply cordoning off the affected area, and allowing the "disturbance" to continue unabated and localized until it burns itself out. That way, the department minimizes injuries, damage, and civil suits. 9-1-1 will be "unavailable." Everybody and everything inside the cordon is SOL.

Since the old msm ruined any chances for a fair trail, I doubt there will be even charges at all will be brought up.

OJ had a jury trial and there couldn’t have been 12 other more moronic individuals gathered in one place... my bad, there’s Congress.

“Thank the federal government for that . . ..”

If only we could whip the federal government back into its cage, and become its master. Perhaps it could become a useful partner.

Got to remember that this is not LA, but FL, a much more conservative state.

From the law as written, the prosecution would have the burden of proof to show beyond a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman did NOT act in self-defense.

I doubt they can do that.

Federal prosecution would be another story.

Remember the LA Riots? They started when the cops in the Rodney King incident were found not guilty. The cops were then indicted under federal law, and the "double jeopardy" aspects were ignored.
